Was looking through older jams and decided to mix this ST track that’s been sitting around. All Syntakt, but I did add some fx in during the mix, mainly Noise Eng. Ruina on the drum buss
A slow groove with somewhat crushing distorded kick/bass
Some morning ambient jam using mostly digital tracks, letting it jam by itself
Latest performance! Cheers!
Mainly syntakt with a mystery synth…10 points if you guess which one…![]()
Listen to IthinkthereforeAI by the kosmic kindergarten on #SoundCloud
I started working on this cover. It’s generally correct melodically, but I’m not really there with the sound design. I’m tempted to leave it as is or try to get it closer.
Sounds amazing, more accurate than I would imagine. Why not send it to P.T. Adamczyk?
Oh hell yeah! Broke my ankle in January and had to take two weeks off work to recover from the surgery. Anyways got deep into Cyberpunk 2077 while I convalesced and this sounds amazing!
Straight up Syntakt techno.
This quick and dirty production comes from some patterns I did in the Science Lab, with some added Syntakt drums. Straight from the Syntakt. A 909 closed hat, otherwise this is all synth machines.
Nicely done, getting such clarity and space with complex low frequency tones in the audio field… everything comes out clear and crisp, great track…more please👍 have you got a link to more of your tracks?
Thanks @Joshgrn
Something I often do is run everything through the FX track except the kick, and use the kick to trigger the FX track envelope for pseudo compression. Keeps things tidy and tight at same time.
I’ve spent most of my music time and energy on the Science Labs the last 10 or so months, and musically it’s been all over the place. I released an EP of (very) rattly dub in October (link in my profile). I had plans for at least one techno release but haven’t come that far yet.
I’ve posted many tracks here in this thread too, but it’s a pain in the arse to wade through it all ![]()
3 syntakt slow loops with too much OT reverb and uncontrolled amount of bass
Just got mine and it’s all I’ll have unpacked for a bit so I’m making tunes on it and recording into logic with overbridge.
Have to say the sound on this seems like an upgrade from older elektron machines. The Tonverk also has a better sound to it as well.
But the syntakt does an awesome job with kicks bass snare. About everything outside of hats, which I use the two shot for. I want to spend more time with the Sy chord because I know it can sound deeper than what I’ve been able to coax out of it. Meaning- deep/tech stab sounds.
Kick tricks are similar to the rytm but it sounds a little better to me. Well you can make releasable tracks with the rytm, of course too. The resonant high pass trick, dialing in overdrive and maxed out key tracking all go a long way just like on the rytm. Honestly with the limited but very usable sample engine I don’t think I’d go back to the rytm again , now that Outbox8 is coming out.
Once I finish up this tune and compare to tracks I’ve made on my mfb machines it will be easier to compare, but so far I am very impressed.
Demo of my latest soundpack. All synthesis.
Nice snares. Did you do the live performance and transitions on the SY? That’s my task for today, figuring out my live performance workflow. I want to try the FX block as scenes technique.
Thanks! Yes and no. I performed (mostly a bit of control all) all patterns individually and then stitched them together in Live. A lot of the melodic sounds have some kind of portamento going on and I didn’t want any weird glides between the patterns for the demo track. ![]()
This is something ive been playing with, i was using the syntakt without the sequencer for drones and just using lfos to modulate tracks because i wanted to use ‘scenes’ in the fx track and it doesn’t work unless you have the sequencer disengaged, but then i realised you can mute the fx track and the sequencer doesn’t engage with the fx track and you can use trigless trig scences when you hit play and engage the sequencer on all other tracks. so im pretty sure muting just disengages the sequencer as you can still play and hear tracks(this is for all tracks)play them live or trigger them with external sequencers or arps. This is actually a great feature I dont know whether its on purpose or just a querk but its awesome and a game changer for me to have this revelation…lol
I did another game cover!
This time I’m going 16-bit ninja action with Shinobi 3.
I’m an adult and all I care about are ninjas, giant robots and synthesizers.
Love this!!! The level 1 music from Revenge of Shinobi is probably my favorite game music theme of all time (with the Ocarina of Time theme in the conversation).
I recently came to the realization that game music from the 8-16 bit era probably played a big subconscious part in my affinity towards electronic music in general. I mean the Genesis/Megadrive FM engine is so industrial sounding, it’s wild.
