Just realized it’s now possible to create wow/flutter effect on the delay using the slewed random LFO on the delay time in the FX track! sounds so good!

Synthwave (ish?) on the Syntakt.

Really nice, especially the cymbals! What machine are you using for that sound?

Thanks

Cymbals are the default cymbals from the analog track 12.

I love Syntakt default analog cymbals.

Oh, thanks.
I’m currently deciding between Syntakt and Digitone II as a xmas present for myself… I must confess I’m torn between the immediacy of the first and the more sound sculpting options of the latter! :slightly_smiling_face:

I have and love both. One question might be how much do you need polyphony? Assuming they’re the same/similar price, the DN2 is the superior machine, IMO. Syntakt is awesome though

The question is probably more phylosophical in his nature: will I spend all the time making sound design with the DN2 instead of writing songs? :joy:

Seriously speaking, polyphony Is not so important for me, but i fear the machines from syntakt are going to be a bit limited in the sounds palette that can create.

If you put in a little time, you can get so many cool and creative sounds out of the Syntakt, it’s silly

Agree! They kinda managed to get depth and accessibility in perfect balances.

Gotta find the edges and intersection of which there are many :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

(More LFOs would be great though, or doubling destinations as on the A4 would be great.)

Glad I’m not the only one  they sound good with almost everything

I guess you already know this, but you can get a used Syntakt for a bargain right now… I may be a little biased, but I think it’s probably the better choice for the money right now.

Yes, you’re right.
I’m eagerly waiting for Thomann’s cyber week sales; Maybe there will be a nice discount for Syntakt!

Very possible! I got my Syntakt e25 from Thomann only a few months after the e25 edition came out - and it was $250 less than MSRP. I don’t remember if they were doing any particular sitewide sales at that time but just giving you hope that they may put up some good discounts

i will say besides all technical considerations, choose the one with the sound that gels with you. it’s an instruments first and foremost, if you gel with the sound , hte magic will happen anyway. if you take decisions on numbers, track ; polyphony but the sound you’re not sure , it will take dust unused on a corned of your desk.

Well said, I second that.
The dilemma lies in the fact that i like them both (from the various demos): the DN2 for his experimental/ambient vein and the ST for his “drum-oriented” attitude. And I like both kind of music flavours i could create with one of them. :slightly_smiling_face:

Let’see what Thomann ore other EU shop are going to offer!

the digitone has some sort of glass over all his sounds , this machine fascinates me , was like that with the 1 ; same with the 2; the syntakt i really enjoy the synth machine, not so much the drums , you need to use the 2 lfo to make them feel alive and original but still don’t gel with it. i tried; i wanted.
you can find some really good deals on syntakt right now in the second hand market.
