Convenience is awesome, but once you’ve heard the kind of quality you’ve always been looking for, you can’t unhear it.
I guess that’st the thing with my constant search to optimise my workflow. I can find workable solutions that make things a hella lot more convenient and straight forward. But I’m hearing that Chase Bliss effect in my head I traded for it, that SiX compressor that even on a subtle setting just makes everything run through it so organic and alive, that Prophet 12 dust and dirt I just can’t find elsewhere …
Honestly, I should probably just invest time and money in getting my workspace together rather than trying to find gear that can replace what I got, since I absolutely love what I already got and really don’t want to trade it.
Why love-hate? I thought you loved the Six and Fusion and even wanted to upgrade to a Big Six? I‘m just asking as I‘m thinking about splurging for a Big Six and possibly Fusion myself and a big driver for that was your glowing reviews .
New update for TX-6 adds recording to a usb flash drive or ssd. Maximum recording time is 248 minutes (over 4 hours). You can also scrub through recorded audio files.
Seems pretty cool. Is it possible to record every track separately or just the main out?
It’s a bit of an oversight that any midi sync capabilities are lost when recording as there is only one USB port.
I havent tried it on the TX-6 but i know the OP-Z can handlar two incoming usb signals so just use a hub and go at it… ill check If Thats the case with Tx-6 as Well… If not lets hope for an update
I do agree but I was also thinking about it and most devices I’d plug it into can record anyways (computer, phone, Op-1F). I bet it’s more for performances but you can still record the main out if you wanted.
Still, I feel like recording was the biggest thing people complained about (other than the price) so it’s nice that it’s here now.
It’s getting more and more interesting, this Field approach from TE.
No arguing that the new OP1 and the TX6 are lots of money. But I can’t think of anything as remotely convenient and complete in music production as these two combined together.
I’d imagine for some, that’s worth the asking price.
So one could theoretically now use a Novation Launch Control XL to control the volume faders and fx pots on the TX-6 for those of us with adult size hands.
if you want multitrack recording plug the TX-6 into your phone and track things out into a DAW app. Don’t forget this is still a 12 channel audio interface.
The feature to auto start recording when input audio is detected is great for easily archiving everything. Shame it’s only stereo not multi track. Is there a multitrack recorder app on Mac that can do this? Light enough to have on in background?
Boxes Black and Blue? Some +/- but both for the price of just the TX-6, 2000 in the pocket.
I think if Bluebox didn’t exist TX-6 would seem more unique. 1010 have touchscreen, TE have tiny knobs, both are compromises related to ultra portability, and adding a midi controller to either loses a bit of portability…
I have been a user of OP1 since 2010, well aware of the capabilities. Both 1010 boxes can be a totally self contained music production/recording setup too.
