Way way overpriced but I like TE products and would love one along with a few pocket operators and the OB-4 radio loudspeaker for my office to play with on breaks along with an Erica Synths Perkons. But I am a sucker for synth gadgets.
nice portable combo no power needed! Just add the OB-4 radio loudspeaker and can jam outdoors.
The OB-4 lacks richness and sounds tinny. I also noticed distortion of the bass even in mid vol. Would not recommend buying one. As much as I wanted to love that thang, i had to get over it, and returned.
tnx for the warning, which speaker is better suited you think? (battery powered)
Everybody in bed so quietly sequencing the TX-6 stock drum and synth sounds using the Octatrack just for shits and giggles. (with a stiff drink also!)
Nice duo
Just out of curiosity, whats the general opinion about the D/A & A/D converters on the TX-6 when using it as audio interface?
PS: what stands are you using there for the ST & OT? I like them
There isn’t a way to multitrack record the op-1f tape into the tx-6 is it?
nope. (not yet)
These:
The dude selling also asked to use my pics when I thanked him as I asked him to make them 30 degree instead of stock. So send him message if wanting that angle
thanks its an option you can select on his ebay (30 or 45), so seems its popular now
would be interesting to compare sound quality when e.g. recording an analog hardware synth in your daw through the TX-6 and for instance an UAD or RME audio interface. Curious if you would hear a difference (you’d expect the converters to be better in UAD or RME).
hi
there are better & much cheaper options if you just need i/o…
but if you need a very small & easy to carry around usb powered interface with a MIDI controllable mixer not many other options
I’ve been using it with a Digitone & TR08 both of which sound fine
also it struggles with hot input sources - TX6 couldnt handle line level from a homebrew synth that a BlueBox had no trouble with
hopefully that is something that might be addressed in a future firmware update
Aha the missing link! It’s still way too small for my fat fingers. If they make a larger version that could be worthwhile. I love my pocket operators and OP-1 but went with a Bastl Dude mixer and Koma Field kit for less money and easier to use. The TX-6 has cool features but the tiny size is bad design in my book. I’d rather get an MPC Live 2 and SSL Big Six.
My favorite part of the Roland mx-1 and bluebox is getting to control starts and stops for other gear over midi. I love how they’re capable of being the master clock.
Can the tx6 do this? I know it can do beat matching, which is super helpful and cool. But I’d love to be able to hit play on it and have other gears sequencers start. Does that make sense?
Yes, possible over usb and bluetooth
How would it work over usb though? Could you give an example of something besides a teenage engineering product that it would work well with?
Perhaps an elektron box like a syntakt or digitakt? A polyend play?
I need to read the manual more but it’s been confusing for me.
I only tried over BLE which works nicely, I believe you can also sync clock and start/stop to elektron devices over usb, but have personally not tried it yet, perhaps someone else here?
