Does someone know if it is possible to mute/unmute OPZ tracks from Digitakt mute/unmute tracks? I saw this video on Instagram where someone managed to do it through « mute groups » but this is not what I want (the idea is to use song mode on Digitakt). However it could be a workaround.
I’m trying to make a Launch Control XL template, but I’ve run into an issue.
I’m using the “channel 1 to active track” setting, so obviously I had to change the kick channel. I changed it to 15, but somehow it ignores CCs sent to it (well, at least the volume CC, as all the other parameters in my template are sent to the active track).
So more time spent with the opz and thirty mins into the cuckoo mega tutorial part one I came up with the basis for a perfect shinichi atobe tune!!!
I’ve been trying to emulate him on my a4, MD, rytm but couldn’t get close until now
Some magic in that little grey box
Just got an OP-Z. Bought it new for EUR 489,- at the big T. Wonderful machine. Powerful sequencer and surprisingly good sounding. But already on the second day the yellow power switch fell off. I could put it back in, but build quality is really not that great. When delivered its battery was depleted and it had an older firmware (1.2.28), so it must have been made in 2020. Does anybody know if newer OP-Z have better build quality and less issues?
I’ve read many comments that say one or the other. Overall, I think the newer units could have slightly improved main case material, but it is still prone to bending, encoder pop-out and the worst - double triggs… very poor design choice for the buttons indeed (as is the volume/power knob). If they just made it more like the OP-1 form factor with solid materials this would be a killer product.
Dunno about the new ones, but I’d recommend sticking extra rubber feet to the bottom to prevent bending. If you get double triggers, Deoxit D5 solves that easily. My volume knob cracked, but I printed a replacement, and it’s actually better than the original.
Mine finally bent and the encoders popped up… I left it in the studio not touching it for a couple months and it’s is the hottest room… I knew better… but anyway. I just put it in my sock drawer for a couple days and it acclimated to the cooler temp and went back to normal.
I want to play my OP-Z like a Star Wars bar musician weirdo playing a futuristic clarinet sampling my voice into the mic and having complete mastery over the button combos
I just bought a new one whilst I was in holiday in Australia as I was missing making beats on the go and was doing a lot of travelling. The first one I got the volume knob cracked instantly and had a depleted battery and unresponsive bend button. I took it back and swapped it the next day for another which also had a depleted battery. I didn’t travel with my computer but thankfully I was able to actually update the OP-Z using my iPhone with a usb camera connection kit dongle which is smart and then I did the battery reset trick with the new firmware and it works super solid now
