Im not sure i can be much help for your decision as i primarily use it as a midi sequencer. I havent loaded any new sounds to my OP-Z for Well over 2 years…
It’s my favorite sequencer so that’s something
But overall enjoy plugging in my headphones and jam out on it from time to time…
Odd one: how do you reduce the volume coming out of the usb? I tried reducing individual tracks and the master volume but it is all coming out a bit too loud.
With the Line module, can I send output from the Z and say into a Chase Bliss Habit, and back into the Op-Z without creating a feedback loop? That’s my biggest gripe with the Field, that the limited outputs make it impossible for me to loop stuff live back into it without creating feedback.
But if I understand the Z correctly with the Line module, I can actually do that, here?
And like, sample the results live? I’m okay with the 6 second limit, with the Mood, that’s like an ocean of worlds anyway
And don’t forget you can also apply the OP-Z’s own fx to incoming audio (and sequence those fx too), plus run the OP-1 through the OP-Z’s tape scratchy thing.
Although I don’t think you can sample a sequence you are playing from the Z. Can anyone confirm if that is possible? Maybe you can sample a sound coming from OP-Z out to an fx loop and back in to the line module if triggered by a midi controller?
Actually, that’d make more sense, since I’d be finishing the track on the Field anyway.
However, that’s kind of how I use the TX-6 now, so I’m not sure the Z would resolve anything in my Field workflow, but rather be its own thing, with results possibly then travelling to the Field from time to time.
Wow so the opz arrived and it’s a bit too good for something so small
Yet to dig into its deeper sequencing but the sounds are great and with an iPad it’s got a lovely touchscreen screen interface
Running it through the rytm needs a level boost to get it up in the mix and it compliments the rytm really nicely especially as I have the first issue mk2 in the grey box but the sounds palette is broad and works well with the rytm which I tend to view as separate modules in one box
Fun jamming
