Come on TE. Give us what we want!
If they said 1.75 years away a year ago then it’s gonna happen next year. Things very rarely goes faster than expected
Teanage Engineering
1.75 yrs ago march 2023 I think would make its early 2025 - still on track for the most part _. Within a quarter ….
I still say it’s a z but if not we’ll know soon enough
Idc; I’m not getting it, made up my mind, no more gear
is it OUT or DUT?
The O looks to have a bit of a flat side to it
but might just be me
Good spot, the glasses work well! I edited the post. Also top right looks like it definitely says OUT.
Yeah lower ones look like DUT, in my line of work that means device under test… could be some sort of test/burn in board.
Nice! I didn’t know what that could mean, but Device Under Test makes sense, I thought this looked like some sort of test board as opposed to the device itself, the previous shot with the blackfin is probably the device. Did the OG OP-Z use a blackfin processor?
If you go to his Instagram profile and look at the original video it might be easier to read. Took a screenshot because I don’t know how to share a Instagram story here
the black cables going into plugs in sockets across the bottom might all be usbc, which would mitigate in favour of “a hub to let the field devices talk to each other”.
however…
EXT1 EXT2 and EXT3 top left are pretty hefty connectors which would suggest they’re not low power music or digital connections?
The OUT1 at the top looks to be single channel (+ and - only)… that’s odd for TE where all connectors are 3.5mm stereo, so maybe it’s not audio.
the red aux connector likewise is + and - only.
interestingish that two things top middle need heatsinks.
For those times when you make beats
That’s a proto board, DUT connectors are pretty good giveaway and there’s a raspberrypi onboard, you can see it in the IG story.
Surely it’s an op-z 2.0 with a mini screen; just not OLED…. Mystery solved
Yeah I sort of ignored RPI thru a fear of boring boot times
Just curious as I’ve never heard this preference, why Micro USB over USB-C?
Noooo…must mean hopefully ‘NOT’ Micro USB!
That was sarcasm, micro usb is awful!
wow!
