I know it can send the input audio to the send fx, but can it sample with the fx?
Oh trust me, I very much care about the speaker issue. Iām getting more pissed by the minute.
I been trying to get my wife to make beats with me for Eons. Sheās finally inspired by and purchases His/Hers sampler and it breaks on her?! Bruh.
But what can I do?
I can tell you what Iām not gonna do. I donāt believe in fixing brand new shit. Absolutely not. Thatās against every principle I hold true to myself bro lmao. Wish tf I would go all Mcgyver on something I just paid for.
i havent scrutinized the teardown photos enough yet. but it looks like the speaker connection is just pads being forced together by the screws similar to the battery connection. maybe it needs to be reseated, or screws tightened. Or most extreme a dab of solder to raise its height.
need some more of that clicky button asmr
Maybe iām one of the few nauts to remember the Ensoniq Fizmo ⦠something with a disastrous QC launch that eventually made it to legendary status.
Somehow I doubt this box will reach those heights, but it does make me fear taking it out of the box if thereās a pretty surprising chance itās not 100% functional.
Seriously, the buttons are incredibly satisfying.
You are welcome to break the Guinness World Record. Until then, the title is mine.
(please donāt abuse your instruments folks)
Can you believe someone just offered me $500 for the one with the broken speaker?!
Duuuuuude. The force is real. Wow.
I would take that!
I got $501!
Mine isnāt coming till Friday, figure if you ship it today, $89 overnight shipping, I can get it by Wednesday evening.
The beats made between Wednesday and Friday evenings will make all the difference.
Iām about to make it
BIG TIME ![]()
Lmao.
The NYer in me is compelled trust me.lol
But nahhh. Iād like to pass TE the responsibility and opportunity to make it right for my wifeās sake and others. They need to know it was broken.
I remember when the iPhone 4 came out. I went with my colleague who bought two from the US, to meet a buyer. The buyer paid 3 times the price. Not even one blink.
After the transaction was made I asked what does he do for a living. He was an IT manager for a hospital. And he said if he went to Berlin with his fiancĆ©e to stay in line at the Apple Store (like the previous year), it wouldāve cost him a ton. This way he got it cheaper.
I guess money does grow in trees.
Incredible. Particularly if one considers that in 6 month the hype will be over and the Elektronauts will discuss other new GAS topics intensively.
That goes with any gear ? Youāre telling me if your elektron fell off the same table, landed on its face, thereād be no encoders bent or screen wouldnāt be cracked ?
Itās the same size as an iPad. You can get hard shell cases that are nearly just as slim. So travel becomes a lot less difficult
I donāt know. Havenāt been initiated yet. Been eying Octatrack or Rytm mk2 (donāt think they count as portable anyways but whatever). Are you telling me they are KO2 level build quality?
As far as my other portable samplers, including iPad/iphoneā¦.theyāve all been dropped, shuffled through airports, gear bags, subjected to heavy pad banging sessions, etcā¦.no issue.
This is not that imo. Which is fine. Just giving my opinion about that. If you disagree thatās also fine and good for those considering such to make more informed decisions. Everyone wins.
No, I am not telling you that. Iām telling you any gear that falls off a table is going to have problems. Some could argue the better the build quality the harder they fall.
Example. If my S2400 fell off the same table as my ep-133 or any other gear the sheer weight of that piece of gear would destroy the encoders on top. And mash up my floor itās that heavy.
Just because a piece of gear costs more, is made in a metal housing doesnāt mean itās taking a fall off of a table. Like some how the pristine build quality will save the device. Youāre gonna be pissed you spent X amount and it fell.
I would rather something with the ep-133 build quality fall of the table then any other piece of gear I own. Itās lighter than anything and the cheapest.
Also. When warranty is up. The Ep-133 will be one of the easiest pieces of gear to keep alive. Soldering in an out parts.
Itās a mini hand held Mpc 3000
Thatās apples and oranges because the devices you are comparing are clearly not made to move at all.
A slight tug of a cable isnāt sending them off a table or the owner is _________. Enter your own adjective.
kO2 is going flying if it simply gets caught on something or simply dropped like so many people drop phones KO2 will be on couches, coffee tables, car seat, plane, etc⦠itās tiny and light and most people will want to move around with it in ways that for meā¦it will not hold up well for.
Imagine thinking something was well built if simply opening the package or putting on a fader cap breaks it?
Just my opinion. However, not the ultimate point I was making which has kinda already been validated by so many faulty units. IMO and that of many others is that it is kinda flimsy built.
More proof? My own broken speaker and way too many units reported with broken faders. Guess what? They werenāt even dropped so not sure why that particular point is worth obsessing over lol.
Iām tapping out on the build quality discussion. I think people have enough info in the thread and around the web to draw their own conclusions. Back to those who just want to praise it unconditionally.
It really is. Loving the sound and the workflow.
So then if youāre moving it around youāll probably be on battery powerā¦
Canāt see it happening how youāre describing it.
Clearly this happens to you, a lot.
So all I can say, just watch out for your cords. Keep them tidy. Especially with your more expensive gear. No point in going back and forth. This is an every gear situation problem and it seems like a legitimate problem you face every day.
It just isnāt for me. And I think for most people as well when using this device.
Also not really apples and oranges because any gear as the way you describe could fall off a desk.
Has anyone tried to connect this with midi hw synths? Iām wondering if connecting a midi keyboard to EP-133 will resend velocity to midi devices and hoping the note velocities would be also recorded to the midi track.
