Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

While I’m still waiting on delivery this thread is the perfect impatience tool.

I’m moving between “I can’t wait to use it”
And “I’ll sell it new in box for some stupid price” every 2 posts.

You’re definitley going to love it—if it works and keeps working :ok_hand:t4:. I’d say the odds are still pretty high yours works.

Mine is waiting for pickup at the local UPS drop shop. Hoping here hardware will be ok, all else (UI / functionality quirks & omissions) I can live with for now.

What was your order number? I placed my order 17:30 but still haven’t got any confirmation yet and I already asked customer service and they said they will ship orders as they came in. However I bought the bundle with the bag and cables so maybe that’s why. :relaxed:

ah this gets me fuckin’ juiced for it’s arrival on Friday.

why do we argue? and my desires..

Realistically I think it’s fair to say that the build quality will leave something to be desired, why do we argue about these things? It’s fine, it’s not crumbling under fingertips , but it’s also a $300 device.
Would I have been willing to pay more for this device knowing the fader was primo equipment? yes.
But the second TE starts upgrading parts and the cost creeps up, then the price is adjusted accordingly and we are back at square one where everyone complains about the price being too high.

It’s cyclical. It is what it is. If you request a more solid unit, maybe they’ll make a field version!
I love that it’s $299 and people can buy three. I like that it’s really popular so far.
I’d also love to see a field version for $1,299 in an aluminum housing with solid hardware (alps fader or someshit), rechargeable battery, OLED screen, resampling, etc.

^ don’t go finding things to argue with in that, it’s not worth it.

I got mine today from BH… fader works, speaker works… no problems

Just got mine from B&H and did some basic testing.

Speaker and fader are working.

Could see some destress marks from the fader and volume pegs pressing against the thin cardboard box it comes in. They are the first points of contact from any pressure on the box.
Not the best packaging for such delicate parts, I’d say.

Didn’t put the fader cap on. It would take some force.

Machine has a little more heft than I imagined. I like the keys.

I’m definitely baby-ing this thing.

TE processed my refund this morning… never ordering from them ever again.

I was billed $505 aud
I was refunded $453 aud

Apparently the currency conversion rate changes dramatically when you get refunded. Absolut shite considering they never even shipped anything, just took my money then returned it.
$10-15 for fluctuations ok… but $52?! Ffs

Edit: I take that back. Our weak as piss Aussie dollar has actually fluctuated that much in the last week or so and that refund is accurate :man_facepalming: not TE’s fault

That’s fucked up, sorry to read that. You should hit up their customer support and make them aware of this, I can’t imagine that’s in their interest or even legal…

I added an edit, it’s just our stupid currency fluctuations. Sucks tho. I could have put that towards buying one locally. $50 down the drain, or two beers at the local bar  world is an expensive place to live these days

I’m listening to the critics. I need to up the ante tomorrow with a “real world” scenario.

My ordernr is 2010926
I think maybe because you ordered a bundle it will take a little more time.
I hope you will receive a mail soon, did you check your spam folder?

They already confirmed I will probably get it in about two weeks time due to my order number which is 2009305. But yeah probably the case and cables also being a factor here.

It really seems TE took a lot of orders for this thing very fast. Impressive really!

My order number is 2013885 so a long way to go it seems

You can edit sounds while the scene is playing.
Trim, envelope, time stretch etc

very cool

How do you switch between quantized and free recording? I can’t seem to find details on that in the manual.

You can change patterns individually and in combination (A or A+C)
on the fly. Instant no waiting for the bar to end.

EX: have a 1 bar loop of drums on Group A. Pattern 01

And change through like 99 different bass line riffs on Group D. All of varying bar lengths as well. Pattern 01-99

Do this while holding A B C D and hit + or -. Hold and type type 50, or 88 to jump right to that pattern.

Very gnar
