The screen is just a bunch of leds shining through colored filters, so makes sense that it would be a bit brighter than an oled screen.
Iâve not used one of these things but I quite like this concept for a display for cheaper devices. Means it can be much larger and theoretically easier to quickly parse compared to a much smaller little display panel that you often see on gear. If the device doesnât have too much fine grained complexity then it seems like a pretty good solution tbh.
Even for more high end gear I think having more indicator panels a bit like that to spread out information might be quite useful compared to trying to cram all the UI feedback into the one small rectangle.
Itâs something that presumably doesnât require that much physical height to implement, so for example on something like the Torso Electronics S-4 where it has that big blank space on the top plate I could see one of these panels being a nice way to use that space. Obviously it would need something of a redesign if they were to do that but I think it would be a good idea if more manufacturers did this kind of thing.
Such a nice old school way to make a âscreenâ. It wouldnt have 20h of battery life with a large oled screen hehe
The only downside is that it can get difficult to make any major feature updates. But they could sell a new LED overlay for a future update for 299
A third party could also make alternate screens. Might be neat.
@charlie.computer
That would be nice!
Is it printed on the transparent plastic panel or is the print like a thin sheet or sticker that you can peel of?
Word up! Yeah TE call me
The fader cap was way to tight to get on for my liking and when I read tht the fader could be damaged from putting the cap on I tried other options. All my kids legos fit way better. Anyone try outfitting it with legos?
Did anyone that open a support ticket with teenage engineering for a broken fader got a response yet? Waiting since friday
Nipped in quick and ordered one about an hour ago and Juno have now sold out. Thanks for the heads up. If I donât like it Iâll put it on ebay just in time for xmas and double my money.
i was wondering if a solution like that could also help prevent future damage, if the knob is touching the casing maybe it cant be pushed in too far?
I like the display on the KO II but it doesnât leave a lot of figurative room for firmware updates to be displayed.
EP-133 in combination with OP-1 is really powerful. Being able to live record to tape (in sync) on OP-1 while having drums and other stuff running on EP-133 is really fun. MIDI over USB-C. Proof of concept:

(sorry for the video/audio quality, Iâm not a synthfluencer)
These are good questions
Anyone?
Just got my shipping notification from Rub A Dub. This is the first time in my life that a fader has given me palpitations.
My fader is fine. I think most are. Just be careful putting the cap on.
That works for me as long as you used my affiliate link
(Joke, if in doubt)
Shouldâve sticked with Thomann in the EU. My friend bought 2 :)) and tomorrow theyâll arrive
Same exact email sent to me. I canceled my order that placed two hours after I got the announcement email. .
Yeah, the chunkier knob gives much less wiggle and feels like I can slide it without worrying im gonna teak it. Even if the OG cap fit it still sits very high up.
I tried all my crossfader caps from my other gear but they donât quite fit. would love to have a proper crossfader cap on it.
