Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

Bobeats review was already posted not even 15 messages ago, and there is no need to insult people.

Packaging for shipping is dependent on the retailer. Mine was wrapped in thick cardboard and snug in its box.

Can confirm the fader FX assign defaulting back to FX when using punch-in FX. Hopefully fixed in the next OS update. I was using the fader for HPF on group A but it changed to FX when using punch-in which resulted in a lot of drum delay

I’m in the same boat. I’m having so much fun with Yamaha FGDP finger drummer for same reasons. Not really a headphone guy unless surroundings requires it, but of course, speaker has to be at least somewhat decent.

id still like an upgraded PO33. its pocketability and immediacy is unmatched. the 133 feels very different.

Getting some weird envelope issues at times where if I load up a pattern with a lot of notes occasionally the release time defaults back to its original state for one of the sounds. Seems to happen randomly. I thought it was the polyphony limit for the group but a quick stop and start and it’s fine again.

Also getting used to these sequential patterns and scenes is tricky. You can’t use numeric buttons to jump patterns or scenes in a non-linear way unless you type in the pattern number. So to go from s1 to s4 and back you have to hold main and type in 0-1 and then 0-4.

The scene or pattern starts right away even if you have it set to bar. Should start after you release main imo, so you could key something in and ride main until ready.

Possible fader fix on ModWiggler (linked video, step-by-step description, photo) involving a bent pin to restore fader brushes. No idea if this will work in general, linking it for those who might be interested.

When using the web sample upload tool, what file format does it accept?

So you’re saying it doesn’t come with burgers?

RE: The fader… It’s kind of weird that they have customers finish the assembling. I’m trying to think of another product, let alone electronic music device, that does that and I cannot think of any…

Well… Maybe those salads you get in a bag, with the dressing in a separate pouch, but that’s so the dressing doesn’t make the lettuce all soggy…

Maybe they were just trying to avoid liability?

edit: Because how can you really have quality control if the product isn’t in its finished state? You can’t.

That seems like it would work. In my case, it was definitely the brushes in the fader that were the issue.

I disassembled mine with the intention of desoldering the fader, but I found that I didn’t need to. It’s possible to remove the fader cover by gently pulling away the pins that hold it in place, which lets you pull out the “car” and fix the brushes. Makes sense that you could do this without even removing the cover if you know what’s going on in there.

And now I finally have a working KOII, just as I run out of my free time for the weekend. I guess it’s likely that the satisfaction of fixing it is at least as high as whatever music I might have made.

They just need to supply a paper clip with the next batch. Problem solved. Paper clip sold separately for 120€.

I think it’s because they leave it to the end user to use the caps they provide or use their own, since it’s LEGO technic. I agree though that by default they should come with them on. The added size with them on shouldn’t obstruct the packaging.

Oh good lord, I don’t need an SC500

Just bought my dad a Samsung tv today. And I had to mount its legs. With a screwdriver. It’s not uncommon. It increases the perceived value. You did some work. You got involved. It’s psychological

Korg NTS series.

You repaired it.

There’s the sort of really minimal assembly needed for something like the Korg NTS-1. I read at one point that there were tax reasons to do it; no idea if that is true.
