to be honest I’m utterly fascinated at how so many folk on this forum dropped £300 on an instrument based on very meagre info and a couple of promo videos considering how TE are not exactly stella in their QC on even their expensive devices, let alone a more budget friendly one. It’s new! It looks cool! I want it! I used to regard Elektron users as a little more savvier.
It’s Christmas spirit that woke up the kids inside of us
Just like how TE have shaken out the flaws of some of their other products? I’d cross my fingers if I didn’t need them.
It’ll go up after folk have had their weekend of fun with it. Well, I hope the number goes up. I want there to be a very definitive message to go out to TE. Just because something is fun, cool, a joy to play, that should not over-colour things to the point where one makes excuses on behalf of the company’s errors.
More of an indication into the average disposable income of a person. For some $299 is more precious than for others. Relative affordability.
it’s still November my friend;)
Got my shipping notification as well. Yay.
I can’t speak for everyone but I have and really enjoy messing with the Pocket Operator KO. I haven’t had issues with TEs quality control before, though I am aware of issues (mostly with the OP-z from what I’ve heard).
My impressions of this thing are that it’s quite well made for the price. Device feels solid, buttons seem to be MX Red type switches like those found on the much more expensive Elektron devices too. Mine does have some issues with the speaker not working. I’ve had similar issues with first batch products from Elektron and Korg though.
At this price point having stereo sampling with polyphonic playback alone is a pretty big deal. Workflow is also real good. It’s a hit I’d say.
are you sending it back due to the speaker not working? Is your postage going to be more than how you perceive the value of the speaker to be?
Happy for you mate, fingers crossed you get your device in perfect shape for the trip
I’m still waiting for my notification ugh
This one is pretty cool

If it’s like a Korg Volca speaker then no huge loss. I’d honestly never use the speaker
I was just thinking the same: With all of the questionable “fixes” people are attempting, I wouldn’t consider buying one on the used market.
how much would you mark it down (due to a faulty speaker) if you were to sell it used?
Waiting to see how much the fader / speaker mods are going to cost and who’s going to start doing them
I actually would like having a speaker for when I’m just casually messing around with it. The speaker and 20+ hour battery life are a selling point to me. I notice I don’t really use my SP404 mk2 around the house like I do my DMG gameboy or pocket operators because of its lacklustre battery life and lack of built-in speakers or microphone.
I don’t think the webshop I bought it at would charge me shipping cost to send it in for a repair. Either way I sent them a message asking them what my options are for a repair/return. Will see what they say!
After the speaker mod?
Like Starfield? Don’t worry, the modders will fix our problems
yes we are and its very important for it to make you frustrated
