Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

i agree. i think its called the “denominator problem” - without knowing the denominator (total sold) we will have skewed view of failure rate (applied to anything) because issues have a tendency to be communicated more so than successes

After a long break from writing music, this device is getting me hooked again. Very well thought out machine - eminently playable and fun to program. TE have done a fantastic job with this one.

Special shout-out to the Loop function, which in combination with the punch-in effects creates instant minimal techno, like from about 4 mins in on this track - love that it applies to the midi notes as well.

Just scrap midi omni and have a midi channels for each group…Makes the device more fun for external controllers.

Was last week in 7-day cruise (MSC), and wrote five songs on this jewel. Thanks, TE! :hugs:

Here is VERY short compilation of those, enjoy! :green_heart:

Any affordable protective case recommendations? Or any 3d printables?

Silly question as ive never used deck savers. Is it just a cover or can you put the gear in a bag and it will protect it?

You can put it in a bag with the decksaver, but if your bag has extra room, I would put a rubber band around it to keep the decksaver on

@te-david I’d really love the ability to copy a sequence from an individual pad and paste it onto another. It would be most useful for MIDI sequences.

A good way to get around having those up-sellers get in yer face;)
Going on my 1st cruise this year (5 nights Southampton to Hamburg) armed with a toy or two.

Pretty sure I’ve found an undo bug. I run into it all the time but haven’t figured out how to reproduce it until now.

To summarise: If you have previously erased a track/group undo appears to skip over the previous erase step in history and returns to the previous state only if you don’t hit play after erasing.

It’s easy to reproduce:

  1. Record a track
  2. Erase it (either the group or individual track)
  3. Don’t hit play!
  4. Record something new
  5. Undo
  6. Press play and you’ll hear the previously erased recording.

Anyone else ran into it before?

Mine arrived today and happy to say fader fully working. Afraid to take the protector of it though. Shall just keep it on. Big difference in packaging this time. No shrink wrap around the box and first time it was sent in a record mailer and this time it was boxed with lots of protection

IF you decide to take it off, use a creditcard or similar of plastic to lift the protection up slowly. Worked for me.

For UK’ers that are after one, Westend DJ say available: low stock. If you’re London based and they have one in a shop you could also pick it up and check the fader in there  Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II | WestendDJ London

from what i understand that is expected behavior. i have the understanding that Undo undoes every change that was recorded/erased between the play button presses. Pressing play “bakes in” the undo state from my understanding. i dont like this behavior personally and i dont really use it that often. i tend to erase specific tracks/groups rather than undo to make things easier to follow in my head.

Hmm, that doesn’t seem to be the case from my testing. Also once you erase, the undo umbrella appears, so it definitely indicates erase as an undo event before pressing play. Definitely seems like a bug to me. Might try email TE and see what they think.

for sure, i’m interested in what they say too. im not sure we’re on the same page tho, i was saying that erasing is included in the changes that are effected by undo. trying to explain my thought process with all these ultra similar words is confusing lol

I think I understand what you’re saying. What I did was recorded a few different times before pressing undo without playing at any point and it only undid the last recording (not everything since last played). So I’m not sure the behaviour you described is how it works.

any opinions on these?
just read the specs and if it’s fitting model: series it should fit ko2, too.
