Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

Damn, thanks for pointing this out, don’t know how I overlooked that little button . Guess it’s time to download my samples and begin reconstructing the songs in my DAW

I’ve had hope the TE would have an update at 10th of Feb in analogy of the previous one (January 10th). Unfortunately…

I had wondered the same actually. Looking at update release patterns on their other gear it seems to be approx every 2 months, after settling a little post product release.

i sampled a lil 16 bar loop i made on korg ds-10 and made this bonker on the 133. recorded and fx’d on the 404

I’m just repeating my request because I’ve not found anywhere that will sell them unless you buy a huge quantity: anyone in EU managed to buy replacement slider potentiometers? If so I would love to buy one or two off you. Name your price

I was wondering the same thing. The speaker is so unimpressive. I get nicer sound from a 5 year old midrange Android tablet. I’m a little surprised it’s as weak as it is, I thought TE had access to pretty good speaker tech. I suppose they didn’t want to put anything too beefy that would shorten the battery life by too much. But it’d certainly be nice to be able to drop in a replacement or even just repair the original without having to tear down the whole unit.

Yeah i saw someone on youtube open the KO2 for something else and it seems like the speakers are just a couple of wires soldered on. Thought maybe it could easily be replaced

Can anyone confirm if MIDI input monitoring is on when recording MIDI into a pad? I’m worried of message feedback if recording MIDI from a source that would also be a target.

Now the dust has settled from first batch issues i think i will try again. I see the fader now has a protective cover on it which hopefully reduces transport breakages.

I take it fader issues have greatly reduced in second batches? Not seeing as many angry customers

ive been seeing people on reddit complaining about receiving busted units still, but at the same time im seeing lots of people who think their unit is broken because they dont know how to read a manual so reddit probably isnt the best sample pool

I just received one from TE and the fader has the plastic cover…its around the post, not over the post. It’s on there tight so I’m afraid to take it off but the fader takes some force to move because that cover is around it…so weird to worry about.

Mine had the fader protection. I removed it and installed the Lego. Works like a charm.

I used a spoon to gently pry it off from underneath. It was an alarming process!

My pocket knife worked just fine.

Right. Without reading the manual it’s pretty easy to get into a situation where it appears that the fader isn’t doing anything.

On the other hand, they’re running a poll over there on damaged units that has consistently shown a roughly 15% failure rate. This seems informative.

im counting 8% and its a pretty poorly put together poll.

Yeah it’s shifted in the last day or two. lol those last two questions have no business being there.

I WAS RIGHT HAHA :japanese_ogre:

Also just ordered one of these from Perfect Circuit (Back ordered)

I haven’t closely followed the Seqtrak thread, but have there been any QC problems there? Not excusingTE in any way, but even the largest of companies seem to run into issues at launch. One plus is the Seqtrak is completely assembled out of the box

im not sure either, but considering how fast each round of these keep selling out i imagine theres just way more of these in the wild than there are the seqtrack and it got hyped so hard so fast that we’re gonna hear more about the problems. who knows!
