Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. Since I’ve gotten mine the time I spend on this thread dropped by 99% lol.

The KO II is ridiculous fun…. I will even venture to say the FUNNEST. I may still be in honeymoon phase but I love it so damn much. Even after I somehow lose 4 hours of consciousness to ecstatic button mashing, I find myself turning it around at all angles in my hands, ogling at its aesthetic beauty.

I can’t wait to record the things I’ve made on it. I’m lucky to have gotten a working one (I guess?), because to me it seems like an A++ release.

Yeah, someone here recommended a square battery which is a good quick fix.

My wife’s hair clip sufficed earlier, document clip is also quick and easy. Where there is a will there is a way.lol

Yes,i‘ve seen it and was thinking about that. But don‘t wanted to lose warranty. The silicone way worked although it was still a bit on the tight sight. Fader cap is full on (i guess) and fader is still working.

Does that splitter support 3.3V MIDI?

Welp. I finally got around to opening and testing the 2nd KO2 I got directly from TE and the fader does not work. I noticed areas of distress where the fader made contact with the packaging. Also noticed that there was a cut out / puncture in the packaging where the power switch sits which seemed odd.
Outside of that the stickers missing.

My unit that came from BH had no issues, came with stickers and showed up way sooner even tho both units shipped from NJ and the TE order being made 2 days before the BH order.

I’m wondering with packaging a product like this is it typical to outsource to a third party or even multiple 3rd parties. It seems strange that there would be such big differences in the packaging.

Anyone have a creative idea on how to get a good audio recording out of this thing without using an audio interface and PC?

To add to this, I find the buttons on the KO2 much more playable than the pads on the 404mk2.

cheesy recording latch solution

On the walforf rocket I have to hold down the launch button to use the analog filter input (basically it needs to be receiving a note on message) and I’ve resorted to some pretty ghetto shit, like using a scrabble tile held down with masking tape.

Luckily for you, the calculator grid would come in handy here. I think you could use a little rigid rectangular piece of plastic or even wood, specifically I’m thinking of a domino tile or similar, and 2 rubber bands.

One rubber band goes in the space above the button’s row, laterally, around the entire machine, and the other in the void below. It’s still pretty hood, but it’s non-permanent and can probably be accomplished with stuff in your junk drawer. Plus, it’s not like anyone is watching, it’s purely utilitarian.

like this roughly:

It’s the consistency for me. Cartoon Avitar with the cartoon diagram. The way the rubber band perfectly hugs the KO2 holding the block in place.lmao. Is that supposed to be a Domino fam?

“Like this roughly” :eyes::sob::man_facepalming:t4::rofl:

If only you saw the entire table before I cropped the OG pic.lmao.

Im still tickled and honored that you removed my hood ass hair clip solution, drew another full color detailed diagram and even included inspiration and munchies.:muscle:t4:

Sorry for the derail.

Ay TE!!! See what happens when you forget the record latch? Let’s go!!!
