The manual suggests they think many would wonder this same thing!
Would be fun I think.
I’m sticking with just the one, and I’m looking forward to others in the series.

¯_(ツ)_/¯
Got the B&H email, too. Feel terrible for everyone who got defective units. Not an excuse, but even trillion dollar companies have production issues. I’ve had issues with a number of Chase Bliss pedals hand built in Minnesota. Always taken care of me. As long as TE does the same, I’m gonna cut them some slack on the first batch.
Bro. Same. I work with longer samples and right now it’s completely bugged. Hope it gets sorted out in an update. Super frustrating.
Ok so it’s not just me. Having the same issue with lag in scene and pattern switching. Sometimes it seemed like turning it of and on again helped.
This warms my heart. Spreading the joy of music making is one of the best things any person or company can do.
a bit astonishing. we are all used to buggy releases from smaller boutique sequencers and stuff, but for TE, a AAA level company, to release a major product with Oneshot playback almost completely broken is hard to comprehend. scratching my head. like how. i’d understand if it was like a lesser used minor feature that was bugged, but oneshot playback.
maybe i’m just spoiled by elektron releases. i myself didn’t have major issues on the digitakt or syntakt release. and those were much bigger in scope. same with the 404. of course they had issues that required fixing, but nothing that made me think “how did this released in this state”
We were talking about it again today and she said “Our phone numbers had a baby!” She just typed out phone numbers with record going and out popped a catchy little beat hahaha
I tried the bag out. It doesn’t offer much protection. The EP-133 fits in pretty tight, and I’m not sure that it would fit in with a decksaver on it. Taking cost into consideration, I don’t think it’s worth it, so it will be going back.
The iPad case you have in the photo here, or some of the others I have seen on this thread will probably offer more protection.
To add: a B&H rep told me that these fall under their Holiday return policy so we have until Jan 31 to return the units.
yeah i was running into the same kind of lag, only happened a couple times when i was at 10 scenes, but it was just enough lag to make me miss a transition
That’s my first thought, well…. Mine’s a tascam, but still.
Interesting im at 10 scenes as well and its when it shows up a bit here and there.
and this is why I was happy I picked one up from B&H!
ohhh i like this very much. Mutable Instruments class act.
Could well be your unit needing a factory reset considering I don’t think I’ve heard so much as a whisper about bugs with one shot playback, let alone it being completely broken! Any way to reliably replicate any of the bugs? I can try it on my machine
@vek @Omen802 Could the one shots cutting off be caused by running out of available voices? Since it has 6 stereo / 12 mono polyphony it could be quite easy to hit that limit without necessarily realising.
Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if it accomplishes this by doing some kind of “voice stealing” concept. That’s something that Deluge does, but you have some control over priority for each track, that way you can say you never want a super prominent sound to be cut off to make room for a new voice.
I’m right there with you. This should be doable in a firmware update right? It’s not a hardware limitation?
unfortunately it’s not voice stealing. i’ve noticed it when working with a single sample. for example, when the sequencer is stopped, i can set a longer loop to one shot, and press the pad. i’ve noticed dozens of times that it won’t play the whole sample, while sometimes it will. i am not sure if the sampler is ever intended to play a preview of a oneshot or if it should always play the whole thing. if someone can enlighten me as to why it randomly doesn’t play entire oneshot when pressing the pad and other times it does then that would solve half my problem.
Additionally while using the sampler and switching scenes, sometimes a longer sample using oneshot will randomly get switched to what seems like key mode. so it will play a brief drum hit version. i then have to go to the sample and toggle oneshot on and off a handful of times in hopes that it starts doing oneshot again.
update: i posted a video below
