Looks nice, does it sample mono or stereo?

Both.

I’ve been looking at the black box and have just seen this. Seems more restricted for sequencing and putting together tracks? More like a portable sampler to be sequenced in a bigger setup it seems ?

Cool little box on first glance

This is a correct assumption.

Having said that, it’s quite the multi-sample beast compared to the blackbox.

But it remains a powerful looper, so depending on how you put together your songs, you can get plenty far with just the clips and loops of this thing.

I’m gonna go to Guitar Center and sample every synth patch

I’m actually really stoked on the core feature of this one, but like previous nanoboxes, the price is very hard to swallow given the actual hardware cost of these lil things. I’d be shocked if the BOM was above $50 for these. I understand being an indie dev in a saturated market is difficult, but even getting this to $299 would be incredible.

I just don’t get there little boxes, cute, but so expensive for a little digital platform being reused.

Do you prefer analogue samplers?

The small size is a big selling point and very useful to dawless people.

I like all their nano boxes, just never keep ‘em after trying em. I like the M8 but it’s just too small for me. Size matters. For me at least. Wish it didn’t!

As far as price goes, if there’s another 8-track stereo looper and multisampler with double onboard fx and filters in this range, I’d like to hear about it.

Probably more chances that 1010 release the OT MK3 before Elektron does

Is this before the release, or has the first batch sold out?

I’m not sure about that:

Was this on purpose?

1010 missed the boat by not including an internal battery on these. Id buy in a second if i could really use it on the go like teenage engineering. If i have to plug it in, whats the benefit to tiny?

Its cool, but also with only one stereo channel out, its very limited. All processing will be internal unless youre using just one track at a time if you want to use any effects. maybe this could be a looper - are there midi footpedal compatibility i wonder? transpose start/stop with cc or note command.

i love 1010, but this is a bitbox micro with two stereo outs rather than 8. I wish the bitbox/blackboxes could play the amount of simultaneous multisamples this can, but if they cant be routed out of the nanobox, its more of a sketchpad feature than multiple usable instruments. imho. Im guessing you can probably output two mono channels, so maybe workable.

all and all a cool box and obvious low hanging fruit for 1010. Im sure its mostly recycled code and form factor.

I suppose it’s safe to assume that this doesn’t have portamento either. Bummer.

Dozens of $20 iPhone/iPad Apps (Drambo, Koala etc) and my Phone has a bigger touchscreen!
Personally if I am going hardware I like a lot more knobs and buttons, if its touchscreen I’ll stick to above (also more portable as built in battery)!

Yeah feels hardware for the sake of hardware. Also when I got the Lemondrop, noticed the plastic was soft touch (so destined to die in 5 to 10 years max). Resold it immediately.
