Syntakt standalone music

Also: Dub Techno Jam, around 35 minutes, mostly Syntakt, TR8S does some delay effect, but 99%is improv on the Syntakt.

It was a spontaneous Sunday morning session, liked the vibe so I added some foggy forest footage.

Enjoy!

I’m kinda obsessed with how dirty the Syntakt can be. I went for something a bit grimy and dark with this one. What a fun-ass box this thing is!

Heck, that’s cool.

Another Velocity Control All test.

Controlling all tracks with Velocity and Probability only. Different Velocity Mod per track.

Velocity 1 plays tracks 9/12 and 6
Velocity 127 plays tracks 1/8 without 6

This is the best thing I’ve seen to produce sample loops for constructing entire songs in a DAW. Subtle changes in even the length produce such drastically different grooves but they all have similar tonalities so it works well.

So far, I’ve come up with 3 tunes in my Syntakt, due to time constraints. Still have so much to learn.

Did this very dirty ambient jam, performed live into Logic via Overbridge, but it’s all Syntakt.

Thanks a lot !!!

I did a little something with little forethought, but I think wound up in a pretty fun place. I’m glad I was recording, but it’s not my proudest.

Haven’t had drive this week to really put something more complex together. It’s been busy outside the music side of my life.

Lots of TRACK ALL and messing up the pattern’s length.

Finished my latest track! It’s called Antaveen. I thought I’d write a bit more about this track than I’ve done before.

  • Found a good use for the modulators - having 4 different lfo frequencies for the sfx
  • Using the ‘reload from temp’ to alter sounds and then snap back on bar 1
  • First use of song mode -which I think really tightens up my performance, I really like seeing the progress bar, helpful for not getting lost in the sound
  • Only used one pattern, and structured it with mutes
  • Still did a little live structuring with mutes (to avoid more patterns), but most attention was spent on sound modulation
  • Used the fx filter to hpf the bass sound so it doesn’t crash with the kicks so badly. Useful because the analog 2vco synth doesn’t have 2 filters
  • Recorded to ableton then minimal mastering chain with 4 band compressor and limiter.

Hope you like it!

I still haven’t got into using modifiers at all… sometimes on breakdowns to crank up reverb or delay but that’s been about it…

Todays jam… ditched the song mode, it’s damn good but I think I enjoy just jamming, muting/unmuting, fooking about with filters etc - can’t beat the feeling when you get through and you’ve not fucked it!

Well haven’t figured out the Vel Mod awesomeness as described but damn if I didn’t have great vibes tonight trying. Please waste 7mins of your life ?

Superb work. Been considering a Syntakt for a while and listening to lots of tracks that were interesting but sounded nothing remotely like what I’d hope to use it for. Then I heard this.

Makes me think of Depeche Mode and great advert for the Syntakt too.

Loosie single I made on the Syntakt when I was bored during a uni lecture. It’s kind of a house/footwork thing? Tbh I’m putting it out cynically since I think it’ll do better on streaming than my usual footwork stuff
