One pattern with 8 CY Alloy. Nothing too crazy but itās fun to use just one machine
Cool this is. I begin to realize that by using one machine for all instruments, you get very consistent and predictable ctrl all, which I can hear put to a very good use in the build up here
Totally agree. Ctrl All is also a good tool for building the Chords.
As has been suggested, embracing the SWARM, without any cleverness:
Another quick SWARM before work this morning:
Here is two patterns made of 8 tracks with only sy swarm, a lot of drive and delay
8 tracks of Alloy. Alien frogs, weird swooshes, a kick Iām proud of, and⦠uh⦠thatās kind of it.
And in the spirit of using Swarm for its base use case, I present an 8-swarm chord with loads of stereo movement. Hopefully this sounds good. It was nice in my headphones but sounds shit on my Mac speakers.
Another Alloy attempt, two groups of three, one through the FX Block, plus some Ctrl-All freeform jazz exploration:

Your tracks are great! Powerful and solid sound even with alloy. Swarm is a banger) ![]()
Nice āstring machineā vibe!
There is something weird going on with the phase in your samples. And indeed, pushing the mono button makes most of the track disappear, which shouldnāt happen. Perhaps a cabling issue?
8 tracks of SY_SWARM, stupid melody, groovy rhythm, fast improv.
Not real experiment, but there is interesting patch on a second minute with arp similar LFO, with changing type of groove after stop/start (using it several times).

Hmm. I guess itās possible? I do run ST in stereo. Both channels work independently, no volume drops, etc. I sent about half of the STās tracks through the FX block using the double notch filter to create a phasing effect, maybe itās possible I created some crazy phase cancellation that way?
Hereās my CY_ALLOY entry.
The sound in the later half is on one track, the last quarter is me playing it live⦠very badly⦠but I liked how it was almost that you had a sample per key.
I learnt from other peopleās entries that you can get a good thumping kick from this machine, which I was pretty surprised with. Thereās also quite a good brass sound (trumpet?) sweet spot I found⦠then lost.

Edit: Oof that Kick needs tamed. Just listened on speakers, it sounded better on headphones.
One CY Alloy and four SY Swarm tracks from me.
I feel I have a lot more to discover with both machines. I thought I would get more mileage out of CY Alloy, but I think I need to spend more time with it.
CY Alloy. Some tonal sounds and some beats.
SY Swarm. Big rhythmic chords through the FX track. This is a remake of something I posted in That Syntakt Sound earlier.
SY Swarm. Bunker disco!
SY Swarm. āNumbersā.
SY Swarm. Sentimental arps, phasing and maximum drive.

Last Swarm upload. I couldnāt stop messing with this, so decided I need to post it and get back to other things!
Just having fun with the overtones when LFOs are mapped to pitch.
Not a great mix, but Iāll endlessly tweak this if I donāt post. ![]()
Looking forward to the next machines!
Thatās just a cool piece of music no matter how you got there. Very impressive
Agreed! Sounds very cool and different
