I don’t have a Syntakt, and do not plan to get one, just wanted to say this is awesome! Well done!
And it only took one day. Amazing, thanks for making this
.
Anyone know if it’s possible to make some kind one automated one click script to upload a pack onto syntakt? (On windows)
Genius idea, hopefully OP might consider implementing this
More updates:
- optional normalization at export
- optional pitch detection for tonal samples (with manual correction possible). Adds suffix to file name with root node. To enable in new global settings panel
- virtual keyboard, allowing to play with a sample chromatically
- UI improvements and fixes
I’ll try to see if @Zo 's idea can fit in the current UI and how it would play, no promises.
You are a beast! This is awesome and thank you!
@Zo added dual sample mode ![]()
Can be combined with lofi/xlofi mode for more length.
It uses the max sample length, padding silence in the middle with a minimum of 20ms to separate the samples.
I didn’t get the chance try it on my ST yet, so let me know your feedbacks on this one.
oh boy i spent the day doing my dual samples manually to day (TR 808 / Alesis / DMX) , i will give it a go asap !!!
Thks dude !!! you rock !!!
Guyz to eneable dual smaple mode just drag the first sample and then right clik on the sample name and select “enable dual sample mode”
You will then see enother slot availlable to drag the second sample :
Dude, killer app! ![]()

What about a bit-crusher function (bitrate conversion, various dithering options etc), to help bring back the crunch (higher harmonics) after reducing sample rate for lo-fi mode?
Is it possible to implement a reverse option for the dual sample modes second slot?
Reverse is automatically applied during export for the second slot. Do you mean for keepind it reversed?
Perfect! I didn’t knew that its reversed automatically when saved. I thought i have to prepare every second slot sample in reverse.
Quick update, added option to reverse a sample (always useful) and set the max number of columns in the UI.
I prefer to keep the tool focused on the pack management part, not adding more editing features and effects. I’ve completed my to-do list for the features, so updates will likely be only bugfixes and minor UI tweaks now.
Makes sense, I’d do the same. This part just seemed to kinda go hand-in-hand with the LOFI/XLOFI modes.
In any case, amazing work, thank you! I can’t wait to get my Syntakt back, load up the new fw and go to town ![]()
Thank you for this
this is a really nice work you’ve done, would it be possible to expand on the lofi settings a bit further, in a recent post someone was able to pitch the sound up to 40 sec and basically doubling up on that to get 1.20min, which on that vocal sample sounds amazing. I guess a synth chord and such would extremely benefit by enabling the longest possible sample-length.
Amazing! Thank you for this!!!
While possible, it’s not quite convenient to use as you then need it play -1/-2 octave on the keys as you’re already beyond the tune param correction.
Also: 40s means 6khz sample rate / 3khz bandwith, 1.2min 3khz sample rate and 1.5khz bandwith. It’s no more lofi at this point, but 80’s phone quality ^^
The challenge is not whether it can be implemented, but how it could be added to the UI and still make it convenient to use, as I’m not sure that’s a common use case. I’ll see what I can do but I don’t promise anything.
maybe 2 more clicks on the lofi setting to change between, 10s, 20s, 40s, 80s ![]()
even tho it is lofi on paper the ST engine does a great job and starting from the bottom is totally fine, basically no need to permanently use the tune parameter, just go down a few octaves on the keyboard or fold mode ![]()
the internal filter is great to really catch up on the aliasing and makes a great sound on its own by reducing the high frequencies ^^
thank you for looking into it ![]()
