Possibly not a bad time at all to pick up some Reaktor workhorses given their apparently forthcoming VST versions.
I slept on taip way too long. I got that one last year for like 10 dollars at black friday. It ends up dropped in every song somewhere. I didn’t think that would happen but it has become one of my go-tos when I need some dirt.

This is a free monophonic version of SoundRadix’s polyphonic Radical1 synth which I demo’d a while back and really enjoyed.
Zebra 3 was coming out at the same time and I had upgrade pricing, so I decided to hold off for a bit on Radical1, but I’ll definintely be grabbing this.
This is not trying to sound like a typical analog synth emulation. It’s got a unique voice. As a company, they’re better known for their processors. This is their first instrument.

I got the Roland 808 plugin in the sale and can confirm it is excellent.
I was thinking about getting the Jupiter, but a few people have said it’s an absolute CPU monster.
Can anyone confirm or deny?

Entirely depends on the cpu someone has i guess
Try the demo and make your own mind up based on your own setup .
Though using Roland cloud to demo a plugin isn’t as easy as it should be .
New plugin from audio damage - AD-202 … a roland mc202 plugin with a few extras … it sounds good too

HEX FX is excellent for creative fx. A person could very easily make sample-based tunes with just HEX and Serato Sample with some very basic stock DAW compressors and EQs.
It seemed a bit weird to me that it doesn’t include a sequencer, given that’s the main difference between the 101 and 202… I know there are lots of other sequencers available but it would have been interesting to see their take on it. I guess it’s just another 101 plugin with a 202 skin?

There are a few ‘mods’ and options but yes it’s similar to 101
As for a sequencer … it’s running in a daw typically so either there’s a sequencer there or people will use a plugin / max device for for eurorack style sequencing .
Or I’d guess one of the other audiodamage plugins
I’ve used it with verkbench to capture lots of multiplayer sample sets … it worked well despite the time limit on ad202

Yeah just seems odd to release a plugin that looks like a 202 but has no sequencer. I like internal sequencers, especially if there are nice presets that pair with sequences.

yes, the omision of an internal sequencer is a missed opportunity 
I understand that in a desktop environment, we usually used other sequencers (DAWs, external sequencers, etc), but on iOS, I find it convenient to have only one app open and be able to experiment with it. In the iPad version, all that wasted space at the bottom is quite odd :S a simple step sequencer there would have been ideal.
In any case, the plugin/app sounds great, and an MC-202 emulation with some improvements (noise channel, saturators, etc.) is certainly welcome

New granular effect plugin from Minimal Audio. Intro pricing at $69.

On the face of it I’d be tempted to say that granular FX was already a crowded market but this looks quite sophisticated and has some unusual features like scale locking, individual grain FX and the usual excellent Minimal Audio modulation features. I have often found granular effect plugins to be unwieldy and just turn the audio into mush, perhaps this one will be a little easier to manage.
It also has the same multi-effect rack from Evoke, which is basically slightly simplified versions of most of their “core” effects. I’ll be keen to see if you can pass audio straight through without any granular processing because this would also make an excellent general-purpose multi-effect plugin. I tried that with Evoke but it always applied at least a little bit of vocoding!
Worth a demo I reckon!

edit: watching the walkthrough now… quite deep with modulation and features.
It’s $69 for me when I’m logged in so perhaps it’s an extra discount as I own some of their other stuff including Current.
