SW DEALS : Software on Sale

Yeah, no trial is a shame but they do seem totally cool about refunds!

XO is not free but reduced to $59 during BF and it helps a lot.

So who went with Universal Audio and what were the best bundles?

nice

I upgraded from 11 earlier and even that has lots of nice quality of life improvements and some great news features.

9 - 12 must feel fresh.

@moving_particles
more than “feel fresh” definitely a quality of life upgrade :rofl: :joy: :rofl: :joy:

very true!

suite 12 has so much going on. I love granulator so very hyped about the 3rd version. Roar is really nice as is the new drum sampler and midi tools.

I was planning on getting the soundtoys bundle but when I looked thru and thought about what I’d actually use I figured the live 12 update is a really nice to have instead.

Still might grab hive 2 but that’s it for me.

Went all in on Signature in the end. I had Spark on the intro pricing for the year and got used to having a bunch of them - the Electra and the analogue poly emulation as well as stuff like the Helios strip and some of the newer additions like Sound City, the SSL bus comp, the guitar amps and the vocal plugin. Spark license expired last week and the difference in price between renewing it and Signature wasn’t that much, plus I have UAD hardware.

Not sure I’d recommend it for everyone though, the Producer tier and the €50 special was a hell of a lot for the money.

Probably a bit late saying this, but the FORUM coupon code works with Signature bundle on JRRshop and knocked a decent amount extra off the price.

:grin:oh, which code is that?

@captain8 “FORUM” - it’s some $35 dollars off.

In terms of deals:

I just purchased Audio Imperial’s Nucleus for $225, which I believe is a very good deal. They have other instruments discounted as well, Talos 2 is off a whole bunch for example:

Also bought UVI World Suite 3 — that is discounted to 209€ (from 299€), HOWEVER, I added two Falcon soundpacks to my cart (27€ each) and with three products in the cart a 50% Black Friday discount gets applied automatically, so for UVI World Suite 3 and two Falcon soundpacks I paid a total of 187€, which I think is a great price for UVI World Suite 3 alone:

Also worth mentioning for those interested in sampled instruments, Ancient Era Persia and other Eduardo Tarilonte libraries are currently 50% off at BestService:

I was looking at world suite, how do you like it after the purchase?

Still downloading :), but according to KVR it’s excellent, so I’m looking forward to trying it out later on today. Will drop you a DM / or an Edit here once I’ve had a playthrough.

@captain8 so first quick messing about with UVI World Suite 3 - I’ve only tried a few of the woodwinds and string instruments, my first impression is that they sound ok — the sounds are bone dry, which is a good thing for sound design & shaping, but there’s something slightly artificial sounding about all sounds I’ve tried so far (literally just 15-20min of playing around). I think the library will be useful to add flavour to beats and jams, but to my ears what I’ve tried so far, it doesn’t sound “realistic.” Contrasting that to the Ancient Era Persia library, that one sounds realistic! Keyswitching there is also sick, especially on the Turkish Ney and the Kaval, amazing playbility. Quite a bit of room on those samples though, so I think for beat making the UVI World Suite might be more flexible. Will be playing with it all more tonight, will update here if my impression changes with more time on my hands.

@captain8 after using it some more I’d say don’t bother with the UVI World Suite 3 library. Doesn’t sound good at all, at least to my ears. Shame. I’ve attached two examples of the exact same midi file playing a Duduk from Ancient Era Persia and a Duduk from the UVI package.

Ancient Era Persia (Armenian Duduk):

UVI World Suite 3 (Middle Eastern Duduk):

Just a reminder to unsubscribe from the deluge of bullshit emails in a few days.

If softube is anything to go by, I’ll get another 100 over the coming week alone. … they’re not doing themselves any favours.

tell me about it… I made a seperate email just for buying all this stuff, and IG…

The worst is the sneaky texts they send after 8 months or so… even before the sign up for texts to get a discount code that they are doing now…

wow thanks man, yeah would love to know if your thoughts change on it

If you buy from JRR Shop, generally it is a good idea to try the code FORUM or GROUP. It doesn’t work on all products, but it’s worth a go.

yup… its simplicity is its strenght…

but i like how you can tune the decay or resonance of the clipping… its the knob in the center… EDIT: I mean the sub that you can add… there is a low end and a high end sweetener… the high end is air i think

and the filter in there too… you can really shape your kicks anyway that you see fit.

Plus you can sweep the clipping from hard to soft to get the right kind of transient you need for your tracks.
