Superbooth 2024 (May 16 - 18)

There is a process for press and media accreditation, if i understand correctly.

Seems to me using private phones is OK, but that is my opinion only. I’d ask before i used that though.

I brought my own headphones when I was there. Was a good choice. I cannot stand wearing other people’s headphones. I do the same in a music store

I recommend Sennheiser HD-25 headphones for something like this. Because they’re compact and light on-ears they can be worn around your neck all day reasonably comfortably, and you can swap in either a long straight or a coiled cable which might be necessary for reaching stuff in some booth setups.

Pittsburgh Modular has confirmed on Modwiggler that they’ll be showing version 2 of the Voltage Research Laboratory at Superbooth.

What if it’s Behringer Gear?

…bringing ur own cans with u does not count as gear…no worries…
while cameras and phones are welcome anyways…
anything beyond needs to be comunicated up front…

Sorry last one, as I can’t find any answer to this in the FAQ. My job is 24/7 for any urgent matters. Do they let you in with a laptop? Or is there at least some locker system available?

I think it better you contact the Superbooth organizers directly with these questions, as I think you will only get non-binding answers here.

The MPE interface improvements with Noisy 2 will work well with any MPE controller, and is easy enough for doing your own sound design.

Maybe there will be a less expensive controller only version using the Osmose keybed someday? ( Not expecting that at SB, but wouldn’t that be stunning ? )

Thought it interesting showing both the Rise 2 and the Push 3 in the video.

Two new Eurorack modules from Vermona.

BASS-DRUM is the kick from the DRM1.

TRANSfourMER has four balanced XLR outputs .

You can also see the Melodicer MEX3 expander which they brought out fairly recently.

I already reported about this wonderfully weird sounding four part musical generative module for SFF but it is too good not to mention here as well. Definitely give the video in that link a listen.

Look at all the CV on this dealy.

If i was at the show i’d be checking this out in person. When i was really really young all music used to sound like this to me, at least in my imaginary memory.

My only gripe with how sick this is… it’s 16 bit.

“this” being the Thingstone TRACK8.

Dangling pronouns, the bane of forums.

Wow! We saw Passepartout Duo play at the Kunsthaus Hamburg last October. They were using one of these, and I poked around to find out what it was, only to discover it was a homebrew controller. Looking forward to details of commercial availability. You can see how they use it in some of their videos.
