Before Superbooth was approaching I thought a lot about what I’d like ASM to announce, and I realized how much I admire them for doing one product really well, in a few different versions that cater to user’s needs. I feel like it will be a future classic along the lines of vintage-but-plentiful gear, and much easier to program than a lot of that stuff.
This Korg acoustic synthesis thing is so cool!

The base sound is a bit kalimba for my taste, but the sustained and hammer-struck sounds are gorgeous

The picture maybe doesn’t capture it but the Elektron booth has been consistently packed all day as far as I’ve seen. Same with Erica Synths and SOMA.

Will be really surprised if Elektron aren’t announcing anything new at SB2024 - I thought the reason they’d clearly rushed out the DT2 launch (incl. bugs galore), was that they had something special to announce a few weeks later. Baffling.

While anyone’s at the Elektron booth, ask them what are the chances of seeing polyphony on the sample tracks of the Digitakt II 
Glen told me they will never have such product under the current business model.
This is basic at the moment but opens up a whole new world of synthesis and I’m very excited. Electroacoustic things like this are such a missed opportunity for electronic music at the moment. So many other ways of doing this that I hope this will open the world up to.

I didnt expect anything new this week except maybe a software update for maybe the Digitone or Syntakt
