Stylophone CPM DS-2

looks nice in that case!!!

i definitely think i’m going to throw mine in a case eventually with maybe an FX Aid and something that will offer more modulation options.

thanks! just made the case with my dad this past weekend.

i like having it in the rack, extra modulation fun for the ds-2 was the main instigator of the rack. i really like that it has the built in speaker even more-so now that i can move the rack around easily. i have one of the myvolts step up tips coming in so i can power it all from a power bank and make it super mobile.

have you noticed that if you run the audio output from the “main” instead of headphone out that the onboard speaker remains active? this was a pleasant surprise to me this weekend when I was messing with it on my bed (see video above) while it was plugged into a little Bose speaker i use for my synths when I don’t want to bother my upstairs neighbors with actual monitors.

i noted a subtle stereo effect that was quite nice!

Stackable cables? What is this sorcery?! I had no idea those existed. Noted!

i havent tried a lil homegrown stereo, that does sound nice. ill have to give that a go the next time im using a portable speaker

finished building the looping ADSR envelope module from AI Synthesis, got it controlling the filters and im using the ellitone keycontrol to send pitch and gate. stumbled across this cool sound, recorded via phone mic unfortunately

Very much banana cable inspired and possibly one of the best things ever for modular, alongside those 6-way headphone splitters that work as 0HP passive mults.

I’d be tempted to rack a DS-2 as and when I actually get one.

more fun with the racked ds-2! put a lil tt-78 drum beat on it, thinking i want some midi integration on the rack, gonna have to peek around for some trs midi modules.

been pulling some really weird sounds out of the racked ds-2 tonight! ive got both oscillators FMing each other, going through a mixer and a filter and back into the aux input. then i have an envelope generator modulating some stuff. got some very cool tapping wood sounds, weird grinding in the low frequencies, fun sounds!
