It was interesting and entertaining, but a bit too cheesy sometimes and overly melodramatic.
I feel like every big movie suffers from that description, itās like if you donāt deliver the āformula for the massesā in form of ādramaā - you wonāt get the budget, and I think that it will only get worse with time. itās a business and the studios donāt like losing moneyā¦
Wow people are still complaining about the mix, that honestly baffles me. I had absolutely no problem with the audio.
Everyday we get further and further from Memento.
Last Nolan movie I saw was Interstellar, after that I just sorta tapped out.
And so you should be.
Might āshit soundā now be very dependant where in the cinema you sit? Presumably most screens donāt have treated rooms. With an Atmos sound field interacting with room reflections, you could have all sorts of weird going on.
(Not an expert, just interested)
I donāt think Nolan tries to do a Mann kind of thing at all. Unless I completely zoned out during Michael Mann films and missed ā¦ everything?
(For what itās worth I love both Nolan and Villeneuve, and even the best Mann films never excite me)
Is Dolby Atmos really necessary for an immersive film experience? For such a serious subject as the atom bomb, I donāt knowā¦ I was more interested in what the characters had to say to each other but I realize I am likely out of sync with greater society.
My metric for movies is simple:
I measure everything against The Shawshank Redemption. Itās either better, worse, or on par with The Shawshank Redemption.
Its a popular movie. If you find yourself amongst circles praising a movie you didnāt like, just change the subject to how great The Shawshank Redemption is
If memory serves you canāt say your theater is Dolby Atmos enabled unless they set the sound in the room themselves; itās their gimmick. So you canāt just hang some speakers in a warehouse and say itās Dolby Atmos, their engineers have to be involved and theyāre pretty critical of their spaces.
so, long story short, youāre saying oppenheimer is a bomb.
Ha! Dammit! Only in hindsight is that pun so blatantly obvious!
Thatās ā¦ unfortunate!
His Batman trilogy is fantastic!!
memento is perdy gerd terr
Iāve never seen it, add it to the list!
sooā¦ Shawshank Redemptionā¦ great mooviieeā¦
Dunno, Iāve never seen Shawshank
Tattoo it on your chest as a reminder.
