I still haven’t given it a second try. Did you just stick the samples and instrument racks in the same folder, and then transfer that over to the Push3 User Library?
Also are you able to access the Variations in the Instrument Racks from the Push3 or will it just be the default instrument patch sound?
It’s one of the best ambient sounds packs I own, and the Push 3 Standalone is very suited to control them with the various instrument racks that are added.
Don’t know if you solved this, but I managed to get all the .adg from Sonic Beds Vol. 1 working on Push standalone. I could not get it working as per the instructions in the manual and instead I simply copied all the .adg racks to a directory under User Library and then I copied all the samples (.wav) to User Library/Samples/Imported. Once I’d done this, then everything worked as expected.
As an aside, this is clearly not scalable in the long term, and Ableton need to find a better approach, as the problem is what happens if to instruments use samples with the same name! Yes you could fix it by updating the sample name and the instrument rack, but that is going to get pretty painful pretty quickly.
It’s so strange how random this all seems. I wish I could give you a one-click transfer for the pack and feel Ableton should make things like this a priority. Glad you could still make it work, tho.
As a sample content creator for Live (among other things) you should reach out to Ableton. I am sure they are aware of the issue, but squeaky wheels and all of that (I am sure there is a German equivalent! )
I am going to invoke @Dataline, since we know that he is on the forum…
I was in touch with them and they sent me a guide that now is in the manual. Not to be too complaining but file management in general is not what made Ableton famous. It took me hours to understand how to export the pack so you guys can load it into Live.
It is not complaining at all. Now that they have a standalone flagship hardware device they need to sort it out.
I agree that it was never great in the software itself, and now they have added a significant layer of complexity with going back and forth between Standalone and Live. I usually only go Standalone to Live as a consequence.
Thank you for adding that clarification. I haven’t tried to load any third-party packs onto my Standalone even though I really would like to; similarly, these issues have also discouraged me from purchasing (as many) third-party packs.
