I’m excited and proud to share my new sound pack ‘Sonic Beds Vol. 1’ with you. It’s a collection of 60 sample-based Ableton Instrument Racks and 117 drone samples in C.
This pack is by far the most demanding sound design project I have ever done and I believe it turned out really well, useful and vast. You can get it here:
So even if you don’t use Ableton, you can load the WAV files in basically any sampler.
The samples are in stereo, 30-60 seconds long, made with analog synthesizers, recorded to 1/4" tape and then to the computer. You can think of them as oscillators with character.
The 60 readily playable Ableton racks are all different. Each mapped with macros and 4-6 patch variations.
But before I over-explain things, please check out the video.
This is a really big thing for me and I’d be super thankful if you:
Leave five stars on gumroad if you enjoy the pack.
Tell others about it.
I’m trying to make sound design a bigger part of my work and expand the gumroad shop in the future. So any word of mouth helps.
I hope you dig the sounds and they inspire you to make lots and lots of music.
A big thank you to everyone who purchased Sonic Beds. I hope you are enjoying the racks and samples. It was a lot of work making them, so I hope you excuse this one bump.
I’m still making music with your incredible sound packs for DN and ST. But I’m sure this Ableton thing is great as well and comes at a good time, now that a lot of people are selling their hardware to go into the box again. Surprised this has not garnered more attention, so the bump is well deserved!
I‘m glad you‘re still enjoying the sounds. And thanks for the kind words. I can’t complain about the feedback regarding the sound pack, so it‘s all good. But yeah, I expected a tad more activity on the forums.
Probably not your style, but maybe you could also drop it in the Ableton or Push 3 thread. I think people here know you and will be thankful. Just a suggestion.
For what it’s worth, “Breaking Waves” from your DN pack is the most gorgeous and musically useful at the same time patch I’ve ever heard!
Hello @boboter i was wondering if you might have any additional insight into how one might get your wonderful pack onto the Push 3. Any chance you’ve been in contact with Ableton to make it easier to sync 3rd Party Instrument Racks to the Push3.
Really loving your beautifully curated package of sonic wonders. Thanks so much for these.
Fwiw, i followed the instructions in the Gumroad Manual but for some reason not all the instruments load so I’m sure that i am missing a step.
I placed the Samples and Instrument Racks in the same Folder and transferred that Folder to the Push 3 but not everything loads properly. I don’t get sounds on the Instrument Racks.
Many thanks for any insight. I also posted this question on the Push 3 thread here as well.
The guide on how to load it onto Push 3 is from the Ableton support and several users confirmed that it is working. But as I don‘t own Push, I can‘t try it out myself. Which is also the reason why I don‘t mention Push 3 support in the product description.
Sadly, the only tip I can give you is to delete the files and try again. I‘m quite sure it will work if everything is done correctly, but I can‘t guarantee it.
