Show me your custom knobs

…and other cools mods you’ve done to your Elektron gear.

And for everyone’s wellbeing, PLEASE keep it civilized and only show pics of Elektron machines and not your own body!

I’m on a customisation quest for the studio and would love some inspiration.

Not strictly Elektron gear, but I put my spare Model:Samples cap on my Pyramid and it looks great, almost like it’s meant to be like that…

I personally think the Elektron cap designs are the best in the game. I wish Chroma Caps would step up with a flat cylindrical option, I don’t like the tapered+knurled caps.

That one fits like a glove on the Pyramid!

How?!

Why?!
It also ate my hair.

Do ones I designed and 3D printed count?
More of a test really…

Been searching for some for my MPC X in the UK only place I can find is in the US called MPC Stuff.
Anyone got any links in Europe?

Unless you can hack my home network and find the files in my horribly unorganized computer then probably yes

No problems sharing them of course
I’m going to experiment with finishes soon. Tried plastidip and it was decent. Next I’m trying some xtc 3D pre-plastidip. Maybe a paint mixed with clear coat. Not sure yet.

Sounds like a lot of love for the user! Dipping xtc while whipping the knob

Well knobs are touchy feely things anyway, so why not make them feel amazing!?!! They just want to feel good and be one with the d-shaft they rest upon. Feel like they “are” the filter they control.

And in the end YOU become the filter.

Empty your mind.

Let the filter be shapeless, formless.

Be the filter, my friend.

Imho digital filters feel more analogue when knobs are dirty. :pl:

That will cost extra

Were you planning on releasing the file for those knobs of yours?

Yeah, I was planning on it. It was a project I had in my head for a while and one night made a couple of knob designs when I had a minute.
I wanted to make an encoder as well though.

The idea was to print the outer shell in spiral vase mode and then an inner shell with the indicator and D-Shaft mount. Spiral vase is one long print with no starting and stopping of the filament flow. The surface generally comes out much nicer. It worked pretty well actually.

If I don’t find time to make the encoder I’ll just post the knob files soon.
