Share Digitakt II Beats here ✌🏽

First pattern I did. Only the samples used that were preloaded to the tracks and mangled them to liking.
The three LFOs make one-handed play possible

not exactly a beat, more like tape music but…

For this week’s weeklybeats entry, I composed a piece on Digitakt II, only using my very own PIANO CHAIN samplepack (which is available here for FREE!)

I first created a pattern, then captured 3 loops (low, middle, high notes). Then on another pattern I set these to loop indefinitely, created duplicates that are slowed down to half speed, and changed each of the tracks’ pitch subtly so they drift away from each other as time passes. Somewhat an imitation of the Steve Reich tape loops technique.

Hey all, I’ve put DTII and ST together for brutal compound time signature beats. Enjoy

Thank you!

Nice! I don’t think the ending was abrupt enough though.

Here’s two jams I did just using the Digitakt 2, playing with genres to get a better sense of how to use it. One is a richard d james era jam attempt and the other was trying out early 2000s house - villalobos style (I wish!). Just recorded through USB straight into Ableton.

Got a DTII and it’s my first sampler, so I decided for my first song to stay in the spirit of a sampler and sample some stuff. For work I do hearing tests and sell/program hearing aids, so I sampled the various sounds used onto my phone put them on the DT. All the sounds in the song are from hearing test tones, speech testing, and various hearing aid calibration signals. No one told me samplers were so fun.

Impressive! While it being a first sampler, you seem to have control. At least a control I’d love to have myself and I very much appreciate vocals jacks more than anything. Simple and smart imo.
I’m following at SoundCloud now too. Big👍🏻from me.

Thanks, I really appreciate the kind comment. Watched a bazillion youtube tutorials which definitely helped. DT has been really fun so far, and I like that’s it’s pushed me in directions I don’t usually go. And I actually finished a song, which is something I typically struggle with.

edit: the main cut up vocal is the International Speech Test Signal, which we use when measuring the output of hearing aids when they’re in the ear during a real ear measurement. It already sounds pretty weird on its own: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xF8SCcdw_9E

Ambient-ish Techno, with a pinch of house… or something like that (?)
Recorded straight out of the DT2

I don’t know what that is, but all those sounds and samples were created by myself
(I actually create sample packs, which came about that I made them for myself but also make them available through my shop https://dissonantwitchcraft.com/  )

It’s a reference to this 1996 track by Future Sound Of London (FSOL) made famous by it’s inclusion on the soundtrack of the PlayStation game Wipeout 2097, oh and being on one of the best electronic albums of the 90s
