Is it a sound idea to buy a mk1 a4 with a faded screen and install a replacement screen? It’s so cheap so seems like it’s worth a bit of effort.
Also, are there any orange screens out there?

i’m currently on my 2nd Rytm MkI screen. it’s getting worse though, starting to think about getting it replaced again later this year…may try it myself this time as last time i sent it to Elektron and that took a couple months.
or maybe worth trying out something different in its place
Does anyone in the tri-state area do screen replacements for the RYTM Mk1? I’d likely get the part directly from Elektron (unless I can get a white on black that works), but in either case I wouldn’t want to send it overseas for like 6 months. Wondering if anyone local does it, or knows someone who does.
Just some general thoughts so hopefully this is useful, but Elektron has a service department in Los Angeles, so while not exactly next door to you it’s still stateside. Calling a few computer and television repair shops might yield reasonable results, music shops will usually outsource to those type of techs on a screen replacement so it’s not a dead end but a more expensive road. A lot of businesses can be found with reviews online these days, if you find someone that seems promising try and google the business and see if there’s any feedback - could also check for complaints on the better business bureau site.
Someone on here realistically might be able to do it but you’ll have to see who all responds. I’m on the west coast and I’ve had pretty good luck with Elektron Los Angeles so you could consider emailing support about it. If they still stock the part for RYTM mkI then they’ll sell you the raw materials and you could take the part directly to a shop for installation (I’ve heard that screens from elektron as a loose part are very reasonably priced).
Looks like I need to replace my RYTM screen soon.
Hopefully the posted screens in this thread are still the path to take.
Elektron replaced mine and did some other work for $150 USD (including parts, labor, and return shipping). That was cheaper than any local place I called around to.
If you’re not comfortable soldering something that precise, that would be my recommendation.
I’ve sent my RYTM and OT off for repairs multiple times over the last two years.
After the last two rounds, I’m just looking to replace parts on my own.
A buddy of mine is very good at fixing gear so I feel set.
Can someone directly me one where to purchase analog rytm mk1 screen? Any options for better quality screens different colors? All links are welcome
