if i understand you correctly the behavoiur you describe is how motion in roland devices works. its diffrent than elektron p-locks. look at it more like automation from a daw to an external synth. when you send cc value automation to the synth as soon as you stop sending new values it stays a the last value received. i think reloading the kit is the way to go to reset to the saved kit
Yes, for me this is the case. When I used it dawless I did Not really recognize it.
Is there a way to play samples in snapshot mode? Say I record a chord, create a stab out of it, and then want to play a melody in snapshot mode. I tested it but setting different tunes does nothing. So Iâm guessing itâs not possible?
edit: i had the sample on the crash symbol track. It has to be on one of the first 4 tracks to tune snapshots

Jeffâs absence from all the marketing of the TR-1000 is conspicuous - I assume Roland would have tried
Interested to see if he pops up with one in a DJ set or live show in the near future
At ADE last October, Roland made a push for the then few weeks old TR-1000, including a booth and sponsoring a panel with Recloose, Octave One and Carl Craig talking about the impact the 808 and 909 had on Detroit (without any mention of the 606, sadly).
When I saw Octave One live at ADE they still only used a TR-8S for beats and Jeff Mills rocked the 909 when he performed with Tomorrow Comes The Harvest. Speedy J however did an 8 (!) hour Stoor set on the 1000, and used it more than the 909 it sat next to. He had an external clock though⌠Recloose meanwhile seems to be a full on TR-1000 ambassador, taking it everywhere. I guess this yearâs ADE will be a good indicator of the establishmentâs embrace of the 1000.

yeah theyâre all hard plastic buttons, not rubber or soft.
the paint flaking in lipoos picture looks like its from the inside of the button.
they arenât like the TR-8s buttons which are rubberised - the TR-1000 ones are solid plastic
Maybe we have a different meaning of soft. To me, they feel like silicon, so they are soft. The sequencer buttons are hard. This is just my feeling and you would like that every TR-1000 buttons were like the sequencer ones.
odd. mine feel like hard plastic exactly like the sequencer buttons. they are definitely not silicone / rubber feeling (like the buttons on my TR-8s, System 8 etc)
however - i did notice the printing is on the outside of the keys, if you run your fingernail over a key you can feel the printing edges
either way - I think the paint flaking is going to happen with extended use
Maybe it is because they are not clicky and my brain interprete it as they are soft

I doubt that - without even looking at screws there are 71 knobs and faders to remove from the front panel before you even start!
