Roland should have at least one more trick up its sleeve - the V-Synth (XT).
Check their colour chart for clues
Roland Aira V-Synth with the aforementioned “Daft Punk” Sampler would be pretty fricking bonkers
yes and its infuriating that the sh4d doesn’t have it yet or the tr8s
Using my T-8 in the garden today it struck me that the P-6 is also a good self contained device like T-8, where J-6 and S-1 are really more suited to using with a few other bits of gear, I guess E-4 too.
just ordered, gonna pick it up tomorrow. going on a weekend solo artist retreat to my grandma’s cabin in the PNW islands, gonna bring all my portable stuff and try to bust out some tunes. excited to bring the p-6 along
Does this have the ability to trigger different samples per step, on a single track? aka sample locking or sample flipping
Each sample (pad) has its own track. But you can so called step sample (divide the amount of sampling time in equal portions) and then you can trigger those different portions per step…
So there I was reading this thread in the hope of reading about some aspect that will put me off buying it.
(Usually works to be fair)
But 636 posts and a couple of videos later I found myself immediately ordering one.
Looking forward to getting it
Ahh OK, I thought that might be the case.
So if you wanted to trigger different drums on a pad, you’d need to create a little “sample chain” with all the different hits in it, then slice it, then put different slices per step
Second day with P-6. Already sold EP-133, J-6, S-1, T-8, Pro VS Mini. Still have JT-4000. And P-6 gives me ALL options I need to do my music creation. And it’s color matches my final destiny for the music - NUX Loop Core Stereo. So now only the sky is the limit. And more often my own laziness…
Whoa! I have never heard of this looper pedal!
Do you like it? Is it suitable for all sources and not just guitar? How are you incorporating it in your music?
There are two ways to do this. Either you prepair the sample chain, upload it to the unit and then chop it (there is a function for it) - but only in a grid (2 - 64 equal slices). Or you can pre set how many slices you will need in sampling mode and it will portion the process (record, pause, record, pause…) for you while sampling - be it from analog input, usb or built in microphone…
Congrats! Make sure you update to firmware 1.02 before leaving town (much more stable).
and class compliant…
Yellow is so beautiful

Question about mute behaviour:
- is it a level mute or a midi mute?
- also are mutes global between patterns?
For example if I mute pad 1 of bank A on pattern 1, does it stay muted going on pattern 2?
Same for banks if the whole bank A is muted on pattern 1, does it stay muted when going on pattern 2?
Thanks for your help
I just RTFM:
- muting mutes the playback of the selected pad -> so, level mutes not midi = good
- mute settings are saved in each pattern -> not global = not a deal breaker
you in the sound? I’m in Portland
