Roland P6 Aira Compact sampler

I’ve been trying out a “micro acid techno” setup, and originally I wanted to use the P-6 as a drum machine.

I loaded it with 909 samples, and gave it a whirl. The results weren’t as fun as I hoped.
When performing you need to quickly mute parts in/out and with the silly way P-6 is organized into banks, it’s impossible to keep tabs on what is where. Even with all kicks on bank A, I can never remember if I have bank A or B selected with the cryptic blinking lights on the bank buttons.

The lack of overdrive was also a drawback to add some omph and grit to the plain ol’ 909 sounds

Any tips on the mute thing? It’s a problem with the P-6 I have generally, not just when using it as a poor mans 909
