Tip ring sleeve, it’s lie a 1/8 balanced connector. You need an adapter to convert your normal midi cable to this.
Thanks cold_fashioned, yes I think the particle v2 could be nice to use between 2 projects, destructuring the last bar of project A before loading project B.
I also thought about Red Panda tensor and Ottobit jr for this.
I did a little test with this yesterday, and I think it’s definitely a viable option for this scenario.
Hi everyone,
I’ve just ordered a second hand Particle v2, super excited to try it.
Since I’m new to fx pedal I was wondering if there was a way to plug several controler to the Particle.
For example send midi via trs as well as an expression pedal.
Are there some kind of hubs that could exist ?
thanks,
I’m not sure if what you want to do is possible.
Can you not send midi via USB, and then use the trs for expression pedal? That will be a lot easier than what you are trying to do.
Yes I haven’t thought about that. 🤦
I can send midi via usb from my Polyend Tracker so that might work.
Hello friends, just got a Particle 2… the button to scroll through presets is a bit dodgy - requiring multiple presses sometimes… See the vid below. Not what I’d expect at this price point - just curious whether they all are like this or if I got myself a lemon?
Luckily I bought it new. Cheers.
Friendly bump - surely this is not how they are supposed to be? or?
Bring it back if it’s new, and ask for a replacement.
I bought a third hand one and it doesn’t do that, I’d send that back for replacement.
Fantastic pedal though!
I just ordered one to use in a hardware only setup. Super excited!
I’m interested in trying one of these. The only reason I’m hesitant is because I already have Zoia and Microcosm. I was thinking of a Particle or a Mood. Overkill?
EDIT: I decided instead to not get anything and try to make a new patch on Zoia and play with Microcosm some more. Particle looks cool but I don’t absolutely need it (just like most of this stuff).
Just placed an order for one of these to sit on the cue outs between my OT and Specular Reverb V3.
My octatrack is my fx bus and resample and mangle tool sync’d to my MPC keys. Think it should be fun.
Curious, though, how close can this approximate grain delay in Maschine? I didn’t buy it with that expectation but it would be a nice surprise. One of my favorite fx.
I think I’m gonna go with a Tensor instead. Something about it’s tape-like functions appeal to me.
I’ve had my eye on a tensor for a while, just wish it was stereo in and out.
Well good news! newer tensors have stereo IO. iirc they started using newer hardware at some point without saying anything, and then released a firmware update that backported stereo IO to all the pedals past some serial #
A couple of questions for the Red Panda users on this thread?
-
can the Particle V2 do reverse pitch-shifted delays?
-
does the Tensor midi sync to external clock sources?
First question: Yes, but not from the front panel. (using the midi editor) I’d recommend a Raster if that’s an important feature to you.
Second question: Doesn’t seem like that, but not sure.
Thanks! I’m very undecided between the Particle and Raster… the Raster doesn’t do granular, right?
No it doesn’t. They’re both great pedals though. FWIW, I only have experience with the Particle 2 and it can do so much. I would recommend it any day, especially if you like to experiment. It’s not a very bread 'n butter delay pedal, which the Raster can be a bit more I believe, but maybe someone else with Raster experience can chip in on that.
