Recording a 128 step (8 bar) loop with 1-shot Rec Trigs

Yep. Trigging rec and play. Once it records, twice it loops.

Ahh, maybe that’s where pinup was at, it’s hard to tell sometimes without full parameter disclosure.

I think I’ll stick to pickups for this…
(for nauts that didn’t read the whole thread I’m talking specifically about re-recording different length loops that playback in real time as you go using a track recorder, not simply making fixed length long track recorder loops)

So I tested again, it works really well with Inputs AB/CD (note C#4), but playback may stops when using combo C4* with SRC3 for overdub. It can be used as a crazy random but quantized time pitch delay.

Recording a 128 step (8 bar) loop with 1-shot Rec Trigs

*I guess it doesn’t work because of the lack of +1/384 microtiming when quantized.

I was actually trying to add my .02 to the effort of finding a solution to the OP’s demand, in which I’m interested as well, and that quickly became the PUM vs Flex discussion :

then @sezare56 committed the following wisdom:

so we will now gather every sunday morning to figure out out how we should interpret this.

Unfortunately the REC SETUP 1 > RLEN parameter don’t change depending on track scale.

Definitely.
So did you succeed?

OP’s solution is easy and they figured it out a ways back while us crazy Octanauts went all PU vs Flexies.
Happy BDay! @sezare56 :coffee:
(@jkam6033, you can also start the recording with a one-shot and end it with track+rec, on latest OS you have to press track+rec twice (bug😮)…

This thread makes my head :exploding_head:

Happy Birthday @sezare56 go easy on the Britney Spears (cockney rhyming slang for beers, and soecifically Brittany’s beers :joy: ) :beers: :birthday:

Happy 303 day to everyone else

@Open_Mike easy on the Octatrackuasca

Happier without Octatrack today.
All project folders deleted, please mount set message. I didn’t connect it to a computer, or used File manager. It’s possible all projects were erased because I stopped OT when it was loading a project. Not sure. Not a big deal concerning the projects, even if didn’t backed up the most interesting. Fuck.

Bummer

You might try a card recovery software? @rusty might have some ideas if you have not already asked?

That’s not a fun present… :hushed::frowning::grin::upside_down_face: :scream_cat:
Your avatar scares me but it’s awesome… :joy:

Already asked quoting @Rusty in another topic
Yes. I used recovery softwares before but no more installed. Not against PM with interesting links concerning free recovery softwares. Not the end of the word, just plenty of weird projects made in OT.
Some wav exports on the pc I should back up otherwise it’s 4 years stuff gone!
My ukulele works. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

That’s so weird it happened on your Birthday…
Somebody get this man a 303!

I replied to you in another thread. Just wondering: did you try to read the card in a card reader (as opposed to OT over USB)?

Thanks, I wouldn’t refuse it. :
Every (parts of my) body needs a 303.
Btw, I’m fine with my cheap xOx Heart clone + A4, don’t need a real one. Feel free to send me one anyway!

Nope. Thanks, why not, as the card seems full.
I think it’s possible to recover files, but still find it sad and depressing, because my computers are fucked too…

Before your message I couldn’t post mine because I had the message “sorry, an error…”
and wanted to post a kind of “Fuck Elektronauts too” message but…
Thanks for posting!
And sorry for off topic and future split!

Hmm…
Maybe we can flip this around.

Perhaps your old projects were keeping you in certain areas and by creating a new fresh project you will be unbound by the shackles of your old project structure and birth a new, better, even more awesome project, perhaps combining the best elements you’ve learned from the other ones into a new master project that rules them all!

Did it most of the time, hence to much projects, but I used 11 banks for the last experiments project.

That’s the way I think of it, that deserves a banana split. I’d need rhum for bananas…
Everything lost makes back up easier.

You should. There might be something wrong with the OT’s card reader.

Try just ejecting it and reseating it too…
