So unfortunately after surgery, I misplaced my beloved Strymon Big Sky and Timeline pedals! They are probably packed away and hidden in my home. I am looking for a solid delay/reverb effects module for my gear. Looking at Erica Zen Delay but only has delay and also stuff like Eventide H90- expensive but does tons of cool effects and can run 2 effects at once and also Meris LVX delay which has good sounds and a looper as well. Thoughts? No rush as most of my synths have some sort of effects built in like Rytm, Jomox, Virus but some new gear like my incoming DB01 Bassline do not have any effects.

Honestly, I REALLY want an H90 to experiment with to see if its worth the $$$ on a big lead voice, but I don’t know anyone that has one.

I know right? And there is the new Erica Synths Echolator and Night Sky now. I have Erica Synths Black Hole DSP eurorack fx module and love it! Anyways, I can wait as I do have my Strymon brigadier delay module and EHX Canyon reverb fx pedals if I need it. I just need to comb my house with fine tooth comb to find my beloved Timeline and Big Sky Strymon gear. Fortunately the Jomox Alphabase has decent on board effects as do my other synths except for Db01 Bassline that does not. The h90 is a dream fx pedal but expensive so will wait until next year and maybe for my birthday gift to myself may buy one.

the effects on your boxes are really cool and deep and i thik you can send other gear through them to use the effects too so maybe save your money and buy some weed

For hardware, I’m using a combo of Empress Echosystem and Empress Reverb. It’s a beautiful pair and sounds gorgeous on basically everything. They’re both very easy and quick to get around.
FWIW, I also have an Erica Zen Delay, which I really enjoy as well, but it’s not as versatile (at least in how I use it). For me, the Zen excels at a few specific sounds, and is absolutely worth keeping for those alone, but the Echosystem is overall far more versatile. That’s just my experience.
I’m a reverb and delay junkie and never completely satisfy that itch. If I got something else, it’d probably be the Meris combo. The Specular Tempus looks interesting as well. That one might be discontinued, not sure.
I don’t need anything else. I’m just always chasing some elusive sound in my head that I can never (and probably will never) reach.

I bought Fog Convolver VST, because it had the impulse responses of OTO BAM inside - and i use it all the time now. I found reverbs to be more important - i also love the sound of the A&H reverb in the Qu mixer. I have the H9 , and while the blackhole sounds good - its a very overused effect today - i would suggest an ipad as fx unit - saves a lot of money, compared to any hw. Most verbs are digital anyway - for delay besides the BAM - also many digital - better to go directly for something characterful (analog) or stay in plugin world.

same here! I am an fx pedal and sequencer junkie! I just discovered the cool effects on my TX-6 that I use for portable recording sessions and live events. So that solves the immediate issue. Otherwise probably use effects for free in Ableton since my budget was exhausted this month with my new synth purchases.

I have a meris mercury x permanently attached to the piano (cp88), absolutely love the sounds I’m getting out of it. Makes practice much more fun too.
Also have a meris lvx but it’s packed away as I prefer the mercury x at the moment. It did sound kinda awesome with other stuff though and gave me a lot of room to experiment. In the past I also found Strymon Volante paired quite nicely with both piano and analog synths (minitaur & subH) but it was much more limited than the lvx.

Would it not be much faster to just unhide your beloved Strymon pedals? Or are you lusting for something new?
I’d go for something complementary, so that you can happily dig them out again later without any remorse: e.g. Strymon Deco V2 (your bass synth would love it), a creative pedal such as the Chase Bliss Mood MkII (reverb+delay), Specular Tempus (the compact version of your two favourites), etc. Neither reverb nor delay but can fill the shoes, I can strongly recommend Chase Bliss Onward, which like Deco is very versatile, in this case specialised on textures and glitches/echoes.

yea I decided to hold off until I finish decluttering my home. I just hooked up and jammed on my amazing Oberheim OB X8 after a while and smiles always come when I play keys on it. Top tier analog poly synth no doubt. Most of my gear already have effects so no rush. I really want a Cirklon v2 as now I have a larger collection of synths but spending 2k now for just a sequencer is out of budget.
