Real Polysynth

If u mean in the audio clip, it s the Virus.

Prophet 6 can sound very much like a Prophet 5/10.

Desktop can be had (used) for circa £1200uk.

I like mine a lot.

I’ve just read they used the H until the 90’s or so, so “older times” is until 30 years ago.

I am loving this thread.

Sound physics and aliasing and Germans with their Hs. Good times.

How are you recording those audio clips? They sound extremely shrill.

Prophet Rev2, preset “Stranger DCOs”.

Sounds pretty sweet to me.

I silently hope that tomorrow morning there will be 100 posts of audio files in this thread of people who recorded the asked chord progressions on their polysynths :slightly_smiling_face:

So maybe a Subharmonicon will do the job with the Just Intonation tuning system.

I’m turning on the Alpha Juno right now…

All recorded on a phone for the best comparison.

Sounds nice! I wonder if you open the filter with cut off or sustain, if it keeps sounding good.
Also, is there a way of stoping the pulsing if u wanted?

Please use “What The…”.

we still use the H today. B minor is H moll in german etc

Yes. It’s a flexible, powerful synth. The Rev2 is notable for its rich and accessible modulation tools, compared with some of its peers.

Real polysynths, like real men are hard to come By these days. Especially if you’ve tried them all.

On Virus for example I can’t.

I see people who like jokes enjoy the most this thread.
I am so happy that I helped them have fun this evening.

Tbh, I doubt it’s as simple as that. All factors have an impact. Ie. Certain patches may be feeble enough to where you can play many notes in the same octave without fear of overwhelming a frequency band. Other fuller patches need to be spread through ranges to keep from crowding the other parts in your piece.

What I mean to say is while a synth remains the same on the outside, it becomes a different instrument with every patch and requires a different approach.

Here’s a clip of a rev2 patch I recorded a few weeks ago with minimal resonance build-ups despite some fairly dense voicings:

Right.

There’s two solutions here, and neither of them involve buying another Polysynth.
If you’ve had this issue with several synths it suggests that either a) you’re doing something to make it happen
Or b) you’re suffering from a pretty intense physiological hypersensitivity to certain frequencies/aural phenomena that is being aggravated by playing chords.
