Damn! R.I.P., Dave.
That’s terrible news to read.
What a legacy though.
What? No way.
FUUUUUUCK.
Speechless. He was a hero I met and talked with a few times and I’m so grateful for his contributions.
Ughhh. RIP.
I can barely comprehend it.
I know 72 isn’t young per se but it’s way too young
I am so grateful for all that Dave has blessed us with in this life.
For anyone geeky like me that would like to learn more about his impact, I recommend reading the following book. It enlightened me to just how magical Dave was.

gutting
VALE Dave Smith, what a legend, taken from the synth community too soon.
This suuuuucks.
heartbroken.
I stumbled when I read this. Completely caught off guard.
Thanks for everything Dave! Your Pro 3 SE will be with me forever <3
This is a gut punch.
I’m so happy he acquiesced finally to reissuing the Prophet 5. He ended on the synth he started with which is apropos. I have 4 of his synths and am grateful to finally own the P5/P10.
It’s my favorite synth ever. I’ll never part with my Pro3SE.
thanks for everything you’ve done Dave. From your work with MIDI to the Tempest i’ve loved working with.
Sad indeed, as I get older all my heroes are starting to pass away
Oh no, so sad - RIP his contribution to music is immeasurable.
Oh no… Doesn’t seem real. Somehow I had an impression that he was in good health since he’s always inventing and being creative throughout. RIP Dave.
wtf is wrong with the universe, is this s fcking joke?
Wow, shocked
