Push 3 Users Thread

Ouch that sucks. Good luck

Thanks for the info! Did you use it standalone or in controller mode?

I do this using my Push3 to control a Pittsburgh Modula Taiga.

I use the CV outs through the pedal plugs, and map MPE to the cv values.

Works amazingly well.

I’m still waiting for the Boredbrain Optx V2 to use the ADAT 8 in 8 out - seems ideal but delayed…

Thanks! I’m not too concerned. My Push is still under warranty and Ableton have been very helpful if a little slow to respond.

I was using Push in controller mode with CV outs and hadn’t yet tried it standalone. I’d expect the routing workflow to be the same though.

Lol, I was contemplating on the Ableton pages if I should get a Push 3, and reading this thread to see what problems people have with it and found this. Look at that bent OP-Z :))

I installed the latest Live 12 beta but didn’t see the Push 3 get a new firmware update. My Push controller says 1.0.73. Is that the current one until 12 is officially released?

ADAT only supports a maximum of 8 channels per cable in general. Using all 16 inputs from the Arturia 16Rig over ADAT requires using both ADAT outputs. With only 1 ADAT input on the Push 3, it can’t support more than 8 extra channels unfortunately.

Thanks that explains it!

Oora does a walkthrough of how he’s using Expert Sleepers modules plugged into the Push 3 ADAT jacks.

There is a separate beta for PUSH 3 SA (Hardware Beta) if you want to try it. The current PUSH SA Beta is 2.0b28

Whuut. So you can use that tiny module to get 8 inputs?!

But it won’t work standalone, right? Would be awesome to have something that compact with so much IO

ADAT gives you 8in and 8 out, there are quite a few euro rack modules and stand alone converters (depending if you want CV or Line levels) available to to this.

Hmm okey!I was looking around for traditional audio interfaces but they all felt pretty big, especially those with more IO, and pretty expensive…

Behringer ADA8200 £180
Behringer ADA8200 Audiophile 8 In/8 Out ADAT Audio Interface with Midas Mic Preamplifiers, Black : Amazon.co.uk: Musical Instruments & DJ

Eurorack modules are smaller but a bit more expensive - around £300

Thanks!
Yeah that Behringer is too big for me atm. Hmm might be worth it with Eurorack then… I’ve made it a thing, to not touch it but maybe just a tiiiiiiny, tiny little utility module then… ADAT and maybe add some LFOs for the semi-modular… :grimacing:

I think I started that way- 4 large case full now
I am waiting foir the V2 of this module- its about as small as it gets (the V2 is due any day now apparently!)

Cool, I’ve been trying to set this up with my pro one but can’t get it to calibrate properly, it will only give me playable octaves in high registers.
I don’t have any other synths with CV in so don’t know if it’s a problem with push or the pro one.

Cool I’m sure this sounds awesome with the dominion 1.
Does the dominion have CV in, have you tried calibrating it with a CV instrument?

Yeah D1 has a whole bunch of CV ins/outs. Haven’t connected those to push yet not my modular. Will happen though

Haha yeah that’s why I’m still on the fence ;D But someday in the future… I shall have a modular wall of sound
That module looks slick!
