Any day now? really?
Slightly tongue in cheek, but there has at least been a signing!

Oh yeah. I’m all over that forum page.
Is the small size the main attraction for you to the Optx or are there are features that attract you?
compared to the competition from Expert Sleepers and other Eurorack ADAT to CV converters, that is.
Assuming it comes out as expected around £300 it will be the cheapest and smallest 8 in 8 out and hopefully (as reported) the audio out quality will be very high - the original one was quite highly recommended and V2 is apparently more stable and higher quality…(less noise)…the developer says the update includes…
- The noise floor is greatly improved on the inputs and outputs.
- DC-coupling for the inputs is now selectable in pairs, using 4 switches on the front panel.
- You can now optionally power the module with +5V from your power system rather than relying solely on the +/-12V power rails.
- The new module is 10HP, slightly larger than the original 8HP module.
Well spotted!
I have a bent OP-Z like that and reached out to TE, I couldn’t undo the back cover… TE basically said it’s my problem and I had to pay for shipping and repairs. In my opinion this is clearly bad product engineering. I won’t be buying any TE products any time soon…
Standalone users: Does your Push 3 also get hot when you use it in controller mode?
My controller-only model gets warm, but not as hot as the standalone, I think.
my SA doesn’t get hot at all even if it is “pushed” really hard. Its far away from getting hot like the Syntakt for example
Excellent thanks. I thought I’d read that it gets hot on in the lap. I’m considering the upgrade kit at some point, and I don’t want it to spoil the excellent experience I have already.
Mine certainly gets warm. Warmer than my Syntakt. Warm comparative to an i7 laptop working hard on your lap.
Is there a difference in temperature between when you use it standalone and as a controller?
I keep thinking I need to buy a thermometer to make sure the salmon fillets I cook are at the proper temperature.
If I ever do remember to get that thermometer, I’ll take a readings of my Push 3 in both standalone and controller mode.
I wish the stand alone version had a proper sampler. I know it has plug ins called Sampler and Simpler and you can record audio into an audio track then assign that to one those.
But it’d be nice to record something into memory (via a threshold) then freely assign the sample to wherever I like.
The push does this now, kind of.
You can’t assign a newly recorded sample to an existing drum rack.
There’s no threshold recording.
And for the life of me, where can I find my recorded sample to use it where I want?
Excuse me if I’m n00b’ing out, but your question asks where can we save clips on the Push (right?). If I’m wrong, please ignore. Otherwise, I asked this stumper above about MIDI clips:
Someone responded with the way to save clips in Live to User Library>Clips, but the User Library on Push has no Clips directory, and no one has responded to that. I’m now informed that there’s no way to create a repository of re-usable (i.e., usable across Live Sets and Projects) MIDI clips on Push, so I’m guessing that audio clips are similarly restricted.
I’m hoping someone will chime in to tell me I’m wrong and tell us how to do it, or else give a definitive “no.”
That’s exactly what I’m trying to figure out. Where are the temp files I record? I’d like to fill up a drum rack with samples I record in
Have you tried working with the freeze function and then the convert button? I don’t know myself, but maybe there’s a technique there that works standalone.
The challenge for me is adding to an existing drum rack. On samplers like Maschine and the MPC, you can record a sample in and assign where you want. On Push, you can assign the sample to a Simpler or new drum rack, not one that already exists.
Plus the other samplers have threshold recording which for the most part trims the sample for you. In Push, you have to trim it yourself. Not a problem, just an extra step.
Convenience of life and organizational things…nothing detrimental to making music
However, you only see 8 tracks at a time on Push. If I fill all 8 tracks up with single one shot drums, I’m not having to navigate back and forth past the 8th page. Versus just putting all 8 samples in a rack.
Current project->recorded ![]()
Push has a different workflow. Great for looping samples, or sample then loop, but it requires a bit more button presses to achieve that sampling to drum pad that a lot of us do and want
