Push 3 Users Thread

Just saw this. Have you tried using Push’s CV out to send clock to Innerclock?

this does nothing for me. Could you please elaborate on the steps? thanks!

Not yet - is it possible to send normal audio signals out of the CV Output?

I don’t have a Push  but I’m pretty sure one option for cv out is clock. And transport as well. I’m asking because it might ? help you but also I’m thinking about getting a Push and would like to know if other gear will sync well via Push’s analog clock out.
Don’t know about audio — but they’re called cv outs so probably not.

CV is sent out the pedal jacks.

I think you have to use the Audio jacks for audio out, or connect an ADAT extender to the ADAT jack(s) if you want more audio outs

Is there a way to save a MIDI clip to the User Library so that I can load it at will to any step I want in any MIDI track in any live set?

As discussed above, I’m creating these 12-note chords (note sets for tuning my external synth’s 12 sensors), editing the note sets down to minimal and uniform length for every note, with progressively greater nudge amounts for each note. I’d like to create a stash of conveniently reusable chords rather than have to re-do this tedious work even a second time.

Sure is you can save a midi clip anywhere you like just drag the clip you have into a folder. Only issue is you have to click to preview the sound. Not like stock presets where you can hear it play by selecting it in browser.

Yeah an Adat expander with DC coupled audio outs would give quite a few cv outs.

How do you drag a clip into a folder? Are you talking about Push or about Live?

Oh sorry I’m talking about doing it in live.
I’ll look tomorrow and post back

I assume adding an Arturia Audiofuse 16 would still only add 8 inputs / outputs and not 16 inputs via ADAT to Push 3?

I just connect push 3 to my laptop, start Ableton and select control live , then top back to standalone…thats all it takes for me…

I feel pretty confused about CV in P3s, have yet to try it :grimacing:

Does it work OK? CV tools etc? Can you send LFO signals?

Can I use a standard 6,3mm to 3,5mm audio jack to try it?
Don’t think I want to buy the Ableton CV cables if it doesn’t work well in standalone…

The manual explicitly states 8 in/out, so I’d assume that’s the limit. Couldn’t hurt to ask support though. Or if you’re getting the interface regardless, you could try it out.

Has anyone successfully set up a synth with the CV instrument calibration process?
Previously I couldn’t tune the oscillator on my synth to c3, now with the latest live 12 beta I can tune it to c3 but it is only calibrating octaves in the higher register and all low note are the same pitch.

Also does anyone know is it possible to play non MPE synths through midi and be able to bend the notes?
Here is a video of someone playing the peak on a linnstrument monophonicly, so theoretically I think it should be possible.

Yeah it is possible. You can use the expression midi device + other midi effects to accomplish this  I’ve been able to control pitch bend, mod wheel and after touch on my dominion 1 this way. for example.

this one is fine, I got it too. It fits for push 3 and the decksaver for the controller. Unfortunately, there is no space for the power adapter. Just enough space for the usb-C-Cable.

I managed fairly limited testing of CV before my Push 3 developed a fatal hardware fault, the cause of which is yet to be confirmed by Ableton.

It seemed to work fine. I was using the Ableton Push CV Adapter which splits a single 6.3 mm TRS plug to dual 3.5 mm TS jacks.

I’m not sure what behaviour you might expect from a single 6.3 mm to 3.5 mm jack. If I was feeling daring enough and able to test, I would proceed with extreme caution and stick to using just one CV signal per pedal output. Eg just output 5 and 7.

When using CV, Pedal 1 represents outputs 5 and 6 on Push, while Pedal 2 represents outputs 7 and 8.

I’ve no idea if using output 5 and 6 or 7 and 8 with a mono cable would result in one output being ignored or both outputs being summed. I wouldn’t risk it! That’s why I opted for the official splitter cable.
