I had ordered the UDG case before I saw @Lech’s response, so I will let you know what I think when it arrives.

Audio interface support in A4?
I’m not sure if I’m missing something but you can very much use the standalone 3 as a controller with a usb cable! That’s how I’ve mainly been using mine
No, I understand that! What I mean is that the standalone part seems to be very fiddly, so spending the extra for that wouldn’t be worth it for me.
Ah, got you! Yeah, I only really jumped on the standalone as it had a decent discount on Black Friday sale, I think at full price especially it’s quite a hefty premium for what it adds. (For anyone who’s not absolutely sure they need it I’d say it’s definitely worth starting with the controller version and then upgrading if they find it necessary, fwiw)

Does anyone know if I can use push 3 controller with a 5m usb cable and what type of cable I need? I read that certain cables don’t work so I don’t want to make that mistake. I’ll be plugging into a M1 MacBook Pro.

Depends on whether you want USB charging. See my earlier post here:
My guess is a 5M cable will give you USB 2 speeds and no charging.
At those lengths, you need some kind of active repeater circuitry to maintain a stable connection, but fortunately there are USB repeaters you can buy.
I’ve never used one of these, so YMMV, but at least on paper, this should let you use a Push controller up to 5 meters away from the computer.

In the case of the Analog 4 audio out over USB wasn’t a feature at release. This came later as Overbridge matured.

I am using launch control xl in user mode with push 3 stand alone.
Anybody have any idea how to make the Lauch control xl buttons light up when using it with push 3 stand alone? I am using them for turning things on and off so would be great to be able to see what state they are in. They work as I would expect when Lauch control xl is connected to live in the computer

My standalone with the latest beta 12 is so buggy. In the last day I have 3 crashes, sometimes related with deleting a tracking think, but not repeatable. And then I have a bug that also randomly shows up where I can’t duplicate clips. Seems to always show up just when I’m ready to build an arrangement - hold a clip, press duplicate press an empty clip and nothing happens. Press shift + scene + duplicate, scene duplicates and the pad duplicate works. Submitted the bug weeks ago centrecode, so will have to reshare the project.

I haven’t had any crashes yet but i’ve definitely had more audio glitches and dropouts., stutters and freezes, than the previous build.

Push 3 is an Octatrack replacer for me. I sold my OT after a couple days with Push 3. The crossfader is the only thing I miss.

After solving this problem above, suddenly my Live 12 Beta fails to authorize. The message says, "Some products could not be authorized because their unlock limit has been reached on this computer. Please visit www.ableton.com/account/request-unlocks."
When I to go that link, a blue banner appears across the top of my account that says, “You still have unlocks available for this license.” wtf. Any advice?
Yes, contact Ableton support: they helped me very quickly in the past on this precise problem.
