Yes I have problems with automation on the Push3 SA - connected to a prophet 10 desktop via midi usb. For example: I can’t work out how to delete automation (like synth preset changes) from a clip. The only thing that works is duplicating the ext instrument device and making new midi clips.
Holding “delete” and pressing “automation” doesn’t work, even with the track selected.

I’m also sure that when I have midi notes playing on the P10, and I twiddle P10 knobs, automation is recorded even if I have the automation button switched off. Will try and replicate.

Using the latest prod (non-beta) firmware.

Apart from that, I love the P3SA. Works reallly well to control the P10, with P10 audio coming back into the push. Poly after touch is a joy to play on tbhe P10 with the Push.

you have to press ‘Delete’ and twist the knob with the automated parameter. ‘Delete’ plus ‘Automate’ isnt a function

Actually just holding Delete and tapping at the tip of the knob is sufficient.

You need to break it first, let the battery drain to <3% and show it who is boss… :wink:

lol unfortunate terminology for sure. I can’t quite believe it, but I’m reading on the Ableton forums that this function has not yet been implemented!!

If you are talking about MIDI sync then the following was added in the 11.3.20 betas:

  • External Sync can now be enabled in the MIDI tab of the Setup menu, this makes it possible to set up external MIDI clock sync directly from Push.

If by some lesser chance you were talking about ADAT clock, that was added in the same betas too:

  • In the Audio tab of the Setup menu, there are now two entries for Clock Source: Internal and ADAT In. When set to ADAT In, Push will be synced to the external clock, and Live’s audio engine will follow the external clock rate.

Is it possible to automate/change scales per scene or clip on the Push 3?

(I mean if you’re playing using the MPE pads and want to change keys in different scenes…)

Havent tried it myself but 11.3.20b4 release notes include:

  • The selected MIDI port’s sync delay is now shown in the Setup menu’s MIDI tab where it can be changed with an encoder.

Im finding that sometimes when im switching between menus/instruments, when i select an instrument i wnt tio play, the pads just dont work. Like abvletone shows that midi data is coming through, but its liked the pads are locked from playing.

Any idea what could be causing this? Am i accidentally pressing something or locking something? Its driving me insane.

I was pressing all the buttons to try and figure out how i get out of it. Clicking through layout got me out of it this time. Is it possible I need to like, reset the device or something? Im super new but that doesnt seem like it makes sense

Try long pressing the soft button under the track name to re-arm recording if it has become unresponsive.
