I found a way to cause it on purpose. If i have multiple midi tracks, and switch to one, then switch back, it happens. I tried pressing the soft button to re-arm but no luck. Still works if i cycle layout.
It is per clip.
So if you’re only playing live with the pads, you might be needing an empty clip (with the proper scale) than no clip at all.
I have the same problem. At Abletons forum I haven’t found a solution. Now I am thinking about getting a support ticket.
…
But maybe someone here has a solution for this behavior
Uhhhg that’s really annoying for us but at least I’m not alone. Might file a ticket at this point but was hoping I was just not getting something
Hi. Does anyone in the UK know if the Push purchase price includes import duties etc ? I thought I saw it did, but now on the sales contract they emailed me it says it doesn’t.
Also, if you return it within the 14 day period, I guess the customer is responsible for the return delivery cost ?
I sent support this info literally a couple of hours after I ordered a P3C because there phone lines is not working, as I realised the funds were too tight that I’d just spent, asking to cancel the order, but two days later I got an email saying they’d shipped it. Thanks
EDIT I’ve just seen that they ship from within the UK so hopefully no import fees, and the return process should be easier than if shipped from Germany. Their contractual information they send with the emails is really confusing though
No extra fees or hassle in the UK
On returning, not 100%. They didn’t charge me for returning my Controller but I was swapping that for a Standalone so maybe it was covered in that scenario. They issued a return label. The only problem I had was that the chat told me it was for DHL but it was actually for DPD so I had some faffing about to bottom that out! Not a big deal at all though.
Cool. Good to know, thanks
Does anyone know how to change the default velocity value when selecting a step in the sequencer? It is now 100 but I would like it to be 75. is it possible?
That would be useful!
You did, kind of, and discovered that Push 3 seems to operate outside of time, refusing to acknowledge bars, beats, or the general flow of time outside of individual clips.
Someone call the Avengers…
I’ve got an annoying SA issue. So got a Behringer Edge yesterday and I can’t get either external Push 3 midi / sync or USB / sync to work. But when I open the set in controller mode everything works fine. I had the same issue with my S2400, although my Prologue works fine. The Edge is recognised in the midi settings, I’m setting Push 3 Output to either Edge USB in or switching to the physical midi output, and selecting both remote and sync, no settings on Push 3 input settings - so essentially the Push is only sending midi info to the Edge.
As said, opening with the same settings unchanged works fine in Controller mode using the same USB hub connected to the Push 3. Likewise if I switch to Push 3’s physical midi output, controller mode works as expected for both sync and remote settings. So this suggests the hardware does work, but just not in standalone.
Anyone else have similar midi issues in standalone?
I did just submit a separate bug to Centrecode the other day - duplicating clips did not work on a specific project in SA when repeating certain steps, whereas it did work in controller mode. Centrecode team need me to send a video, etc so it’s quite a lot of work - which is fine, but before i submit the above issue wanted to see if anyone had experienced the same syncing issues and had an idea what the issue might be.
Noting I’m on the latest standalone and Ableton 11 betas.
Love what I want Push 3 to be, but it’s so far from properly working. Will be patient.
My 20v USB-C PD Birdcord arrived and it works great with my Push 3 controller. I’m testing to see how long it lasts, but it seems like it’s going to be several hours.
Today I was using it on my lap in a comfy chair, with a cable to my MacBook, Mac with the screen off. I got seriously tempted by the idea of the standalone, but then I realised I was playing with Pigments, which wouldn’t work.
Still, I use very few plugins. Another grand is a lot for an upgrade though.
I have been using the 3.5mm MIDI out in standalone to control six or seven different synthesizers/voices and to clock a drum machine without much issue, and I don’t see why I wouldn’t be able to control even more. I have run into issues with MIDI out completely breaking and requiring a full reboot to fix, but this seems to be related to constant knob twiddling on an attached control surface via USB. Haven’t seen this issue when there is no additional control surface attached to the Push.
If Push’s midi clock and data out is working for some devices but not others over the 3.5mm MIDI out, then I can’t imagine how the issue would be with the Push hardware itself. Maybe a mismatched channel or other setting in Push, or some tiny DIP switches for clock source on the Behringer?
Thanks, as noted - opening the same session with no changes to settings in controller mode works with no issues. I’ll try unplugging the USB hub I have and just using the external midi. Perhaps the USB hub is causing issues with SA mode.
I wonder if it’s possible to add an internal battery to the controller version. There’s space inside there, and connections. It would be a neat trick to be able to power it while connected to a laptop.
Doesn’t it get powered over usb by the laptop?
Not consistently. Depends on PC/Laptop.
Also, even when powered by the laptop, it runs with dimmed LEDs/screen, same as the Push 2
Interesting…
Im having problems with both the Tr8s and the Syntakt regarding midi clock. It is quite stable but when I use Push’s buttons to change from clip view to scene, instrument view rapidly, the slave instrument “gags” - can’t find a better term. it seems that it briefly stops and then catches again the tempo and position.
I do have a books midi hub connected so I wonder if that is the culprit I have tried both to only have activate the midi out that I needed, also filter unrelevant midi clutter without success…
Anybody else with this problem?
I’ve had a similar issue with my ST. Have you tried turning MPE off? My Take5 also gets kind of “swingy” or unstable in a weird way when sequenced by my Push, and I haven’t been able to consistently recreate it. I’ve tried both of these clocked directly by the Push and through my MRCC and ruled it out as the culprit. If I remember right, the issue was MPE data basically overwhelming the ST.
