Push 3 Users Thread

Cool. Good to know, thanks

I have had the same experiences with the Push 3 betas. Seems odd to me, but as others have pointed out, development of the device is moving slowly.

Thanks for the response!

The overdub made the trick, while holding the finger on the knob, so that it could write ”empty” data (straight automation line)

It does feel a bit tedious to me, especially since it was a 16 bar loop and a bunch of parameters

A kind of clip p-lock would be awesome.

I agree, It’s certainly not the most elegant solution for per-clip settings. per-step automations are very similar to Elektron devices, thankfully. However, I feel positive about these sort of features being introduced and refined as Ableton gets more feedback from the Push 3 users. I think there are a lot of new Push users treating P3 as more of an instrument than a DAW controller or Daw extension and, that will push the needle on these ease-of-use features.

My push 3 on latest beta crashed last night while I was deleting an MPE device from track 7.
Happened twice in a row. First crash I’ve had though to be fair.

So this works with the existing macro variations in a grouped device, and lets you switch between them?

Exactly! It sees all currently existing Variations and lets you add new ones to it.
Also, the device works globally within a set, you don´t have to care, once it detects a racked device, you will be able to use it.

Yes!! This is easily the best thing I’ve accomplished this week  happy to try it, and glad if I acted as a catalyst in even a tiny way to getting some of your hard work out there!

I have a question. I have the following hardware and want to incorporate it with the push 3 standalone. I have a squarp hapax. I want to hook it up so I can be in session mode, but play notes on particular tracks that have synthesizers, bass, etc…
I am also contemplating getting a novation launch control XL so I can have faders for the tracks in ableton. I have a macbook pro that will be the software for all of this. I’m just wondering how I would set all this up physically? I would like the hapax to be the master, so I assume I would plug that right into the back of the push 3, then connect the push 3 and the Launch control to the backbook pro, then spend 15 hours configuring it all to work properly

so nice! This begs the question (to anyone who might know) - can macros be assigned from Standalone?

No, but you can’t create grouped devices in SA too, so i believe it doesn’t really matter in this scenario:)

Dope stuff! Could you elaborate on:

What does it mean?

By the way… does anyone have issues recording automation (or technically modulation) in Standalone?

Sorry  It means if you enable Automate and Record it will write the variations you play into the clip. It does this with every singel paramater instead of just the the selected variation, but that´s how it works. Example: hit automate and record, start playing different variations, deactivate record and the clip should replay what you played on the pads in Variationsmode.

In still encounter this bug randomly with the latest beta (Standalone).
It is, by the way, just a bit different than before, as now I can select single notes, but the highlight border around the note isn’t shown, especially when using the multiple select.

mine have a New partner to play with

Sorry, where you responding to me?

I also encountered another bug today - when trying to select all the same notes from one pad on the drum rack:
1.on one instance notes were selected but from the wrong pad
2.on another instance no notes were selected at all.
