Yeah! If you buy a Pulsar than you (should) want it. The alligator clips have signal distribution and cost advantages but mechanical disadvantages and they look even more nerdy than Eurorack with lots of patch cables. 
My take: Soma’s Pulsar, Lyra, Warp, RoAT etc. are not for the faint-hearted. 
agree 100% I mean I love the Hexdrums but it is a bare bones analog drum box and no way to save kits/presets or do sampling. But that is a-ok for me as I already have samplers and record to DAW anyways and it is super easy and fun.
The Pulsar-23 is so much more than a drum machine though. It’s an evolving organic audio playground. It’s also a form of therapy. 
I agree. Using these alligator clips feels like physiotherapy to me. 
I like the pegs because you can try out patching with your hand, just touch two pegs and see what happens. It’s really fast, perfect for when you’re just messing around looking for cool patches
I can never get the pegs to connect using my fingers… I think I lack the potential.
First you need to rubb a ballon against your shirt and stick it to your hair… after that you can connect everything with your fingers…. Try it at your own risk 
On a serious note, using the fingers works mostly with the wtf pin and I can get a very weak pulse by holding a clock decider pin and audio in.
Maybe this has already been discussed here but in that case I’ve missed it. I’m very happy to have found a way to sync the internal clock on the Pulsar from my OXI One so that I can use the looper or clock dividers and have them in sync with start/stop with other gear. And I can also use the OXI to sequence the Pulsar’s bass at the same time.
It requires that you use the Gate out and set it to clock and 1/32, and you also need to be able to filter out the midi clock, and I did that with my MRCC. 
I first tried the normal clk out on the OXI but that didn’t work well, the resolution is too low so the dividers never landed right. The gate set to 1/32 gives a much higher resolution and then it all lined up.
