Polyend Tracker +

I don’t think there’s a topic for this yet? Lots of improvements.

This is a very serious contender against the Digitakt II

now thats more interesting… 8 sample tracks, 8 midi tracks instead of combined together. full stereo. surprised to see they are sticking to using the radio.

I guess same processor as the mini, how fast is it to load samples and stuff?. Remember on the OG it was pretty slow and sometimes had crashes.

Interesting. I did enjoy the pads/grid of the OG Tracker. Not sure I trust Polyend to sort out bugs though. The amount of times I nearly blew my ears out with crazy volume jumps and the lack of overall headroom being woeful, but maybe this has finally been fixed. I look forward to hearing some reviews that aren’t Benn Jordan waxing lyrical with no criticism.

Changes compared to the predecessor model (fits this thread also);

At least it can do proper sample slicing.

It looks like most of the improvements the Play+ received, but they are far more compelling in a device that can actually sample, and edit/slice those samples.

The interface looks like it makes sound design much easier for the synth engines too (though you’d think it would be the other way around).

Their class-compliant multi-channel audio over USB also seems like a really nice option for mobile users (iPad). I wish Elektron boxes could do that without requiring Overbridge.

They are drastically different devices, even if some of the specs might look similar.

Does the tracker still have that hard coded sample editing? Where you had to render the results?

How long is the sample time?

It’s got most of my wishlist, but it does look like that hasn’t changed along with having to go to a specific mode to record audio meaning you can’t sequence an external synth and then record the results.

Is the display a lot bigger?

As an editor in my day job, this sort of mistake really pisses me off haha

Any way to update the old Tracker to Plus?
I’ve been waiting for a synth engine upgrade for years

nope

Interesting… but is it not polyphonic I take it?

The Tracker has a very underpowered processor so it’s never going to get any significant extra capabilities.
