Polyend Tracker

Thanks for the info! I love the idea of personalizing gear this way. If I could I’d have all my gear in an off-white, earthy, or warm tropical color as opposed to the standard black (probably not a popular opinion around here given how many people prefer black Octatracks.)

I might do this when I take my Tracker apart to repair the jog wheel. It’s a nice alternative to expensive printed overlays, particularly for the Tracker since all of its text is located on the buttons and not on the panel.

No prob! Google ‘cabinet liner sticker’… there are hundreds of patterns to choose from.

Yea this makes tracker an especially good candidate for wrapping. Post your results if you end up taking the leap!

I don’t need that c64 version but I need that c64 version

Under scrutiny? Not the cleanest thing in the world.
From a few feet away? Totally good enough for the folk I rub elbows with :slightly_smiling_face:.

I did this with my SP-404SX in the past, even had the wood-effect! I found a nice soft turquoise that worked nicely. I also find using the adhesive vinyl sticker as a layer onto which to place stickers for sticker bombing is handy as it’s much easier to remove. I’d like StyleFlip to start offering Tracker skins.

Guys and girls, until swing is implemented in a future uodate, what micro timing settings are we using? I’m trying to achieve a nice heavy swing but so far it’s not sounding too good! I’m going to continue fiddling and post updates.

EDIT: It seems a micro-move of 33 is a nice sweet spot for swinging notes.

Looking very good @TheGhostCat

I think with rounded keys it would be a lot more difficult.

I prefer modern / minimal look

Ye olde wood? Why not stones ?
Not for me.

I’d happily add a transparent protective layer or one with subtle shortcuts or useful lists ( like cc values , fx values in terms of tracker )

Or one with an ugly green border around it ( nah I don’t think anyone would want that … Roland ?? )

I’d like a nice sharp white finish on mine, though the black is really cool. In fact, it’s so black and matte that it looks like a 3D render to my eyes. The Kindle paper-style screen further adds to this illusion.

So I took a one-shot pad that I made in Ableton Live with Reaktor, assigned a low pass filter with a rev saw LFO on the cutoff, maxed out the reverb send, applied a second LFO to the pan and a third LFO to the fine-tune… Just wow! It sounds sooooo deep and beautiful. I can finally see why people cry out for multiple LFOs on devices such as a Digitakt. I also sampled someone on the radio complaining about people not wearing masks, sliced up the sample, applied random rolls to each slice, then resampled that, sliced that up and ended up with a really cool glitchy percussive sample chain for my track.

Gah, I am enthralled by the Tracker!! I’ve spent over 20 hours with it in the last two days and can’t quit.

how did you achieve the resampling?

Easy! Shift+arrow keys to select the region you want to resample, then click Render Selection.

gotcha, I was hoping somehow they had implemented resampling of the master outs

Sadly not, though I find the internal rendering sufficient for my needs at the moment. Resampling would be great… Just a thought, can you send the line out to the line in, mute the monitor and record that?

probably

I’ve been sampling the internal reverb tails and it sounds great. I also have built some lush choruses by duplicating a sound into another track and messing with the microtuning and/or fine tune lfo

I’m loving the reverb too. That Mutable Instruments algorithm is simple in terms of parameters but it’s hard to make it sound bad. Also, the Space thingy on the master does some widening / chorus-like effects :ok_hand:

I’ve been wondering about the space algorithm, I always have it on at least 3. Is it just me or does it helpfully leave the bass frequencies unaffected? I’m obsessive about keeping everything below 120hz mono in my productions.

That could be a question to ask Polyend. It definitely affects my kicks but maybe it’s only the top end of those. Maybe it’s worth testing it on a sub with all the top end rolled off?
