Polyend Tracker

Contact them and ask. I’m sure they’ll send it to you.

Go to the polyend website and ask about getting on the beta test list.

This is a beautiful story, a tear was almost shed.

Lol thanks. The whole saga has been fun and humorous and I learned (again) how impatient I can sometimes be. The tracker is now 3 miles away being held at fed ex for the holiday. I should have it by noon tomorrow. Side note, I’m actually kinda happy that I had a week between purchase and delivery, the amount of sample preparation I’ve done in the last 4 days would have taken a month if competing with me also learning a new instrument. Hundreds of single shot drums and odd found sound percussion, all my favorite sounds from minilogue xd multisampled, vinyl stuff, ambient field recordings, etc… this will be the first time that I’ve got a piece of gear and not kicked myself for being underprepared to dive right in. If YouTube has a way to see a watch count per user, Loopop might think he has a stalker.

Excellent. Carefully worded email to Poland should grant you access to beta firmwares.

I’m already on the beta mailer and was able to flash v1.1.14 right out of the box. Thanks for the heads up though!

@PlumWrinkles thanks! I have a Polyend Tracker and shelved it because I’m waiting until it can be slaved (terrible word) properly to other devices. I reached out to Polyend with that feature request and they said it would be happening soon. :crossed_fingers:

1.1.12 broke a few things but they’re all back as of 1.1.14.

I was worried between releases but now I’m back to #stoked.

Sorry if this has been posted already…

Hi All,

I’m considering taking the plunge on the PT.

2 quick questions:

  1. I can’t figure out if the reverb and delay are universal (can be applied to a track en masse, and not take up the precious 2 FX slots)

  2. Can you sample an external synth while it’s been driven (by midi) from the PT? I’d like to sample chords

cheers

  1. reverb and delay are applied per sample. you can use fx slots to adjust it on per step basis.
  2. no, sampling stops all playback

wow - that’s disappointing, to say the least. So if I wanted to add just a little room reverb to a sample, I have to use 50% of the FX slots?! And if you can’t sample something you’re sequencing, then you need yet another external sequencer? I can get around the latter issue by using a keystep or something, but still… the FX issue is a major turn off.

How about in performance mode? One can add reverb and delay there, right? But in performance mode, the inputs are ‘live’ and are not recordable.

It really is a major shame in my view: I was just about to pull the trigger… now I have to go back to the drawing board. I’m now considering workarounds for a song mode with my Digitakt, but am also considering a MPC One, or a Maschine+

Reverb and delay are on a send per sample… so you CAN use both without using any fx slots. You can ALSO add or remove reverb or delay on a per step basis (this will eat up an fx slot). I think this is what op was saying, but I can see how the wording is confusing.

yeah, sorry, i wasn’t clear enough

Render section/step to new sample allows a user to resample anything from the tracker too…
